Re: A bad day off the pitch too

I post on here rarely - but the statement serves only one purpose. To demonstrate how badly the non-playing side of the club is run. All of those issues require planning, with contingency in place. Similar to a poster on the other thread, I have extensive experience of working in the professional sp...

Re: Currie out

And to think just a few months ago, DC was being held up as the manager for the future etc...I don't see any reason to change that - he has been in charge for less than a year, with only 1 transfer window, having been left with a squad which all knew would take time to fix. In the circumstances, you...

Re: scoreboard in the east stand

The point being that there are lots of smaller items which, if fixed, would make the sum of the whole be a lot more palatable for all. I don't think anyone expects perfection (and nor should they), but I don't see any harm in getting the little details correct wherever possible, it's easily done you...

Re: Wes Fonguck

Well that's not good news - good luck to Wes, hope it works out for him wherever he ends up. That's a loss in my view.

The statement from the club is very positive about a departing player as well. Whereas the Craig Robson statement...

Re: New NL Sponsor

Thanks for the link. A deal like this is not unusual, but that's a shift in position - the League turned down a well-known UK gambling brand to be title partner for this 18/19 season (part of a multi-year deal) and stuck with Vanarama. Maybe they've had second thoughts about working with gambling co...

Aren't Motorama the new title sponsors? Link to the gambling news would be welcome if possible. Thanks.

Re: Coptall

They did merge with Barclays Bank, who were playing in Finchley at the time. The remaining players moved to Ealing after that and merged with someone else who I forget! The main reason for the Middlesex CCC move away from Barnet CC was a 2s game played there a couple of decades back. The pitch was ...

Re: Injuries

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but what's the long term prognosis with Mauro? To use a cliche, it'll be like having a new signing when he's back permanently fit.

Re: Hartlepool (PTA) The Back Shaq, Don't Crack Match Thread

Sack the manager? Yeah right, that'll solve everything. Get to the end of the season, stay up (which I have no doubt we will), give DC the chance to mould that squad as he sees fit. I suspect this getting Barnet back to the FL is a 2 / 3 year project, which isn't going to be helped by continually ch...

Re: Halifax (a) The Match Thread Banking on Low Numbers

Did we ever find out what happened at Bristol Rovers apropos Manny Duku? I'm assuming he was just fed up with being taken off after 30-ish minutes, but to kick the dugout a few times, have words with the then manager, then walk around the home end applauding the fans was a little bizarre. Anything e...

Interesting thread from the Halifax forum re the pitch. Win the toss and defend the shallow end first I think.

"Harrison effectively suspended by club."

For those of us not in the know, what's that one about - I'm assuming related to the post-match events of two weekends back?

Re: Chesterfield (Hive) The Mike and the Mechanics Match Thr

Sorry - fair shout. "They" is more an attitude thing I guess. As in if you have an attitude which is without fear and drives you forward, then in theory you get the midfield in more attacking positions which in turn allows us to get in behind the defence. In terms of players? Jack Taylor, ...
