Re: Plymouth (Hive) The Pilgrims vs Progress Match Thread
I think the result has swayed everyone's opinion on how we performed. This was not an entertaining game and for the first 60 mins, I thought we would lose it. They had lots of chances, if any went in, we would have crumbled. Overall, we had a good defensive game, but going forward was poor. We playe...

Re: Matt Stevens Available For Transfer
Just so I can sum up seven pages of whining: MA and TK are to blame as they don't want to play Matt, who if will start will score a hat-trick in every game and win us the league. They have an ulterior motive against youth players, only like signing people for massive money and playing them regardles...

Re: Matt Stevens Available For Transfer
As much as I would like to see him stay, is it really the right time to put him in the first team squad? We play hoofing balls up to the front men or wingers whipping in crosses. From what I've seen, matt is more suited to the passing game. If we played him as a lone striker at Stevenage, I doubt he...

Re: Why are attendances poor?
Rather than go off on a complete tangent like Edd, the issue is probably because of the demographics. IMO, we have a couple of types of people who come to watch to Barnet (with a lifecycle): 1) Free schoolkids 2) Parents with Kids 3) Kids with their mates 4) Occasional fans 5) Sun or Rain fans Numbe...

Re: We need to talk about Edd's forum diarrhea
I like Edd's threads. They are thoughtful, inventive and imaginative, which is more than can be said about the majority of stuff posted on here. You are correct, they are imaginative but that is the problem. He is spamming the messageboard with lots of imaginary people and clasifying them by such t...

Re: Josh Clarke
I reckon, I, like MA wasn't aware of this chap. Seeing a player in one game, liking what you see, signing him on loan, and him performing well in one game doesn't mean the usual standard of due diligence was done. Not to say, he didn't do well, or won't do well. So it transpires the due diligence w...

Re: My Transer Recommendations
The fact its a throw doesn't change that the receiver didn't control it/have a chance on goal/didn't pass it on well. Muggleton is effectively crossing the ball in to the box, its the attackers job to get on the end of it. We have been ineffectual from every kind of set piece - only Dembele looks li...

Re: My Transer Recommendations
Fully support his comments but Muggleton has not really delivered in any match he has come on as sub this season. If he is the best prospect from training then this is a little concerning. His long throw is ineffectual and if he has more to offer then we have to see it on the pitch. I may not have ...

Re: Pompey (away) The Match Thread for whom the cow bell tol
Offside player made no attempt to play the ball. I think the decision was correct. It doesn't matter of he attempted to play the ball or not, the role is that if he interferes with play, then it's offside. The build up to Stephenson second yellow was also offside, you can't tell by the replay. Bira...

Re: Would 5-3-2 work?
It would work, but effectively we are being more defensive than a 4-4-2 or a 4-5-1 with the same players.
Given that Hoyte and Johnson have freedom to go forward when we are attacking, we would be changing from 2 CB and 1 CDM staying back in a 4-4-2 to 3CB's and 1 CDM staying back in a 5-3-2.

Re: I've heard a rumour
Just a thought guys. How much los of income would it cost Barnet over the next year or so if we were to be relegated again? How does this sum compare to any offer we might receive for big John? My reason for raising this point, is that the money from any sale of John has to be balanced against the ...

Re: I've heard a rumour
This whole thread has become a bit ridiculous! - £1.5m is a great amount for John. If you were told he was sold and we got £1.5m, everyone would think that's good business by TK. - How does everyone here know what John is like? He doesn't want to warm a bench, he wants this, he can command that. - N...
