Re: What was your favourite time we hired Martin Allen?

Oh, I see now, that was part of the last edit. Duh!

Just makes the OP seem like a clairvoyant.

Re: What was your favourite time we hired Martin Allen?

Just discovered this poll and added my vote.

Sorry if I’m being thick, but how was this thread originally posted in March yet refers to Allen leaving for Chesterfield in June?

Re: Manager next season

So Rossi came 7th, only behind: the managers of the 3 automatically promoted clubs, the man who rescued Newport from what looked to be certain relegation, a play off manager who has been with his club for nearly 11 years, the man who turned Notts County around. And some fans still don't believe he'...

Re: Plymouth (Standos) The January Sales Match Thread

According to the report, 'the Bees are now the only side in the league to do the double over the promotion hopefuls'. Might this be because no other team have yet played them twice?

That said, sounds like a cracking result and performance - well done, the boys!

Re: Plymouth Comment on plans to change the league and FA Cu

I would support the increase in size of the EFL to 80 clubs, the additional 8 being drafted in by promotion from the National League, combined with regionalisation of League Two so that you would have 40 clubs at that level with no League Three. This would only work with an even number of promotions...

Re: Cambridge (Away) The Season Starts Here! Match Thread

First away point of the season, ten weeks earlier than last year. My impression is that this team was a fine blend of the old and the new. Nine retained players on the pitch at the start - would surely have been ten but for Stephens' injury - and five debutants on at the end! Great to see such posit...

Who knew! Akpa Akpro is the 3rd best tackler in top 5 leagues in Europe!!
Not the man we have on trial, though!

There are apparently three footballing Akpa Akpros, all called Jean.

Re: A supporter from Iceland!

Isn't it incredible how even the most optimistic, upbeat threads can be tainted with negativity? Village's flags always make me smile for the right reasons, particularly when he's given a dedicated terrace at away games. Am I right in recalling that that happened at the Yeovil JPT game last season (...

Re: New season fixture list is up.

Currently predicted to finish 18th. Odds show a difficult run of games beginning Jan and a relatively easy run of games at the end of the season https://experimental361.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/l2-16-17-frd.png Positivity alert! If we're within touching distance of the playoffs at the end of Feb...

And Yeovil the second Saturday in December as well.

And let's not forget that last season's Player of the Year was signed only two days before the first league game!

Re: Luke Gambin

2-1 full time, no problem with excess substitutions, Luke played the full game. Malta scored through an Alaba own goal.

Well done, Luke!

2-1 now with three minutes to go, looks like Luke will get the full 90 minutes.

Re: Luke Gambin

Only three Austrian subs at halftime, so hopefully Luke will get his cap tonight!

Malta seem to be putting up a better showing than in the Czech game - so far.

Does our best XI not have to include a goalkeeper then?
