Re: Radcliffe FC (Away) The Greater Manchester? I know Irwell Match Thread
There appears to be a general decline in domestic cup competition appeal across Europe - thanks to the UCL/EL - in recent decades, and it's only the minnows who want their shot at glory who take it seriously enough. The financial incentive just isn't there for the bigger sides, but even fielding a s...

Re: Boreham Wood (Hive) The Reindeer Hoof Match Thread
Fair point. I'd see it as one less thing to worry about on the day, especially as you can't pay on the door so you're faffing on your phone/PCO on your way over.

90 away? Christ that's poor. I guess most will get it on the day but still... Considering the distance, they should easily bring 500.

Re: Wealdstone (a) The All Stations To Uxbridge Thread
Football without rivalries is pretty tame, so I'm all for Wealdstone and their weirdness. I think some Barnet fans are a bit smug about certain clubs and whether we're 'allowed' to have a rivalry with them. The same thing happened with Stevenage in the early noughties with fans who thought only Enfi...

Re: Broadfields United (Hive) The Middlesex Courtney Match Thread
What was the attendance, and how did it compare to previous home-ties at this stage in the cup?

Re: Chesterfield Tickets
Unlike at Bramall Lane, we'll be tightly packed into one corner. Atmosphere should be electric. 600 feels achievable between now and 3pm Sat.
Any recommendations for parking for those driving up? Nearby residential area? Assume at the ground itself it might be difficult with such a huge home crowd.

Re: Club shop
Positive steps forward. The next step will be to rapidly increase the range of products on offer, which is incredibly basic and a lot not even relevant to Barnet (Stanno/Jako merch).

I wouldn't mind doing this myself at The Hive! - 'Additionally, all Junior Daggers will be invited on an exclusive tour of the ground, going behind the scenes, visiting the changing rooms and other facilities not normally seen by fans'.

Re: Aveley FC (Hive) The Unattentive Match Thread
Our attendances are poor, and the fact that we’re averaging less than Dorking is just pathetic, Southend visit or not. One of many things we could be doing more of/doing better is engaging with young fans and making them feel part of the club. To that end, Dagenham have just relaunched their Junior...

Re: Aveley FC (Hive) The Unattentive Match Thread
Out of curiosity, did ST-holders have to pay or was it included in their package? Looked like a nice little away following, fair play to them. Midweek crowds will forever be low at The Hive, and the club keeps forgetting that we're not in our core catchment area and many will not be able to make it...

Wasn't this in place when we played them away earlier this year? There was a little shed stand in the bottom corner with a couple of steps and a roof.rudebwoyben wrote: ↑04 Oct 2023, 17:53 Dorking have completed work on their end, which is part of the away section - increasing the size of the terrace to a massive 5 steps!

Re: York (Away) The York Supposed To Bee At Home Match Thread
Really enjoyed watching the highlights and very impressed by our performance. On a separate note, I also thought York’s ground looked very impressive and certainly a step up from the old Bootham Crescent. I wonder if their fans feel the same way about their new ground as many of us do about The Hiv...

Re: York (Away) The York Supposed To Bee At Home Match Thread
With so many league games, potential cup runs, and now all of this added time being added on, the players will be aware that opportunities will arise. Especially when some inevitable injuries and fatigue will creep in as the season progresses.

Re: Aldershot (Hive) The Just Cause You Raise The Bets and Aldershot Thread
Valid point Hoofer2. Whilst I'm generally in favour of the ULEZ expansion, there are some short to medium-term negatives with real consequences. We're seeing that in action with the numbers. Hopefully away fans are aware that parking is available on the surrounding streets for free and you don't hav...
