Re: Still has retired!
Not enough of a clean break for me. Looks like he will still be very much involved in the day to day running and recruitment policy. Not at all sure that we will see an immediate improvement or any "bounce" effect until there is wholesale change rather than cosmetic tinkering!

Re: Borehamwood (away) The Wood You Like Leftovers Thread
There's no sign of improvement from last season or prospect of finishing any higher than mid-table this season. The most frustrating thing is that this has been clear for several months now. Let's please just draw a line with Still - he's had the time and resources and has shown nothing to suggest ...

Re: Shomotun and Syla
Also Aghadiuno has scored 3 goals in 3 games this week for Aylesbury. Could actually be 4 goals in 4 games according to his twitter! Just checked the website for Aylesbury United, yep, looks like the fans have really taken to him. Been described as a "beast"! He's still only 18!! The new ...

Re: Statement from Tony
If loan signings are that problematic, then take a free agent like, for example, Shola Ameobi on a match-to-match basis. He may do the job and earn a contract until the end of the season, if he doesn't, then he can easily be shown the door. Would you sign such a contract at this level at this club ...

Re: Wrexham (Away) The Match Thread Savaging Like A Dead She
Why are we refusing to use the loan market? Get Shomotun and Sule back, maybe even Syla and Aghadiuno too. And for goodness sake, get a new physio. The Wealdstone fans are VERY impressed by Shomotun. He played another great game for them yesterday. When do we get him back? We could have done with h...

Re: Shomotun and Syla
Both scored in the FA Cup yesterday. Shomotun with the opener in a 2-0 win for Wealdstone against Great Wakering Rovers. https://twitter.com/fc_video/status/1043580514106511360 Roy Syla equalised for Kings Langley to earn them a replay against Lewes. Apparently Mitchell Weiss got the equalizer for ...

Re: Who would you appoint as manager?
Not at all sure what planet you're on! Rose finally got them promoted after several seasons benefitting from far more resources than most clubs at that level. Dulwich Hamlet only won the play off final against Hendon on penalties! Has got off to a poor start in Conference South but you think he shou...

Re: Who would you appoint as manager?
Pre-emptive thread I know, but I sincerely think Still's time here will end this time next week. Who would you go for at this point? I would go for Gavin Rose from Dulwich. Absolute nonsense. Rose has underperformed at Dulwich Hamlet for years despite the resources and backing he's had. The ground ...

Re: Problem with influx of players from one club.
Good shout this but who really knows? There is a very deep malaise that has been working its way to the club's psyche for a while now. To be fair I saw it coming back in pre season and the buck has to stop with Still. At this stage we are actually no better than National Conference South. That is re...

Re: Ebbsfleet (THL) The Brylcream Match Thread
The forward we had on trial in the Hampton & Richmond game reminded me of Gash from the little we saw of him. He might be one of the players Still wanted to add to the squad who TK has said we can't sign until players have been offloaded. The problem is that right now the players we most need t...

Re: The arrogance of John Still
Well, since you guys have kicked off I may as well throw my penn'orth in! As a fan with far fewer years following Barnet than most of you on here I am in the fortunate position of not being too swayed by reputation and past performances. I go by what I see with my eyes and I'm afraid to say that I h...

Re: Braintree (THL) The Match Thread in the Hot Seat
Thanks, but which point? The folly of underestimating or disrespecting opponents (whether as fans or players)? Or the more general point I've tried to make for some time....that is that we (for a number of basic reasons) are in for a really tough time?Norfolk & Chance wrote:I'm thinking Afrobee might have a point.....

Re: Braintree (THL) The Match Thread in the Hot Seat
This is why I went for 5-0 bees in the prediction league. If we play like we did at the Shots at home against a shithouse team like Braintree then we should be comfortable from the start. I can see Sparkes causing mayhem with his deliveries. Comments like this have a habit of coming back and biting...
