Re: Big games tonight

My only real memory of Boston United was Danny Brown's scissor kick finish in a 1-1 draw, live on sky as the home side were on their journey to the title. Steve Evans was their manager at the time. Good luck to them next season, apart from the two matches we play against them, of course! NLS final i...

Re: Another Windfall for TK

Hopefully Ronnie will actually go somewhere for a fee in the next month or two. Question is, will Posh getting promoted help or hinder the situation? They are in playoff action as we speak.

Re: Positives from the season?

We handed out a few thrashings this season. When our team clicks going forward, there's no stopping us. These past 2 seasons have made me look forward to matchdays once again. I'm now waking up expecting a good result, as opposed to dreading what might happen, and are we going to feel embarrassed wa...

Re: Big games tonight

Got a feeling Solihull will edge it, but I'd like to see Gateshead's fans celebrate winning the trophy a week later.

Re: Coaching additions

TK is trusting in DB and listening to what he needs. This is a good step. Hopefully it will make a resl difference, but at the same time we still need to sign players who are not injury-prone.

Re: Changes to National League 24/25 season

Does this mean the PL u21 sides will compete in two trophy competitions? As much as I'm not a fan of extra games, there could also be an opportunity to market our club to PL fans. A lot of kids never get to actually see their PL club play. The attraction of a parent taking their kid to watch Spurs o...

Re: Changes to National League 24/25 season

Like the fact we can name 7 subs, we should always have a GK on the bench! Now we can use 5, this could help ease the workload on players and help reduce injury risk. The festive fixture idea is good as well. It's quite intense playing the same side twice in a week, although we did ok with it this s...

markobee wrote: 30 Apr 2024, 17:13 Pleased to see this. It is a role which is very obviously needed.
I wonder who the Strength and Conditioning Coach will report to?
Looks like Jade is compiling the CV's.
The role will be to support her, but i suspect as a coach of sorts they would report to DB.

Re: Next season

Absolutely. As much as Saturday was a disappointing occasion in the end, we should see it as a "bump in the road". On the whole, these last two seasons have been good. In DB we trust, but as fans we also have to believe in ourselves and what we want to achieve for our club. The B2B campaig...

Re: Barnet retained list

If we could find a tricky winger to play on the right, that would give other teams a real problem. All very well doubling up on one player, but if play gets switched to the other side...

Won't load for me either yet.
But whatever is in the article, we haven't hung about. List published within days of the playoff. DB probably already knew what his plans were if we were still in the NL.

Re: Barnet retained list

DB has definitely made it a priority to get players in on permanent contracts who have a history of playing consistent numbers of games. We've taken a punt with the odd loan signing like Thompson. But ultimately, you can never tell whether a player will break down with injury over the course of a se...

Re: Ex-Bees (2014 update)

Richard Brindley just announced he’s leaving Notts County. Hmmmm. Worth a punt on him? He's certainly played more regularly in recent years at Notts. I guess a lot depends on how DB views the future of RHJ and Cropper in that right back/RWB position. The season-long fitness of RHJ is a concern. He ...
