Re: Chairman's statement

I thought TK owned the land the cricket club sits on? He obviously doesn't own the land over the fence towards the houses on Grosvenor Avenue but didn't the cricket club freehold come with the Underhill ground footprint) On another point hasn't Labour pledged in their manifesto to do away with gree...

Re: Chairman's statement

In a nutshell, everyone was wrong to get excited so quickly and in real terms there's no evidence that anything - in real terms - has changed. Meanwhile TK looks good as she's shown how much he still cares and continues to do all he can. If TK is putting together a planning application and entering...

Re: Chairman's statement

One thing that could help would be a legal challenge to the status of that piece of land as "green belt. It has built developments on 3 sides and cannot be accurately defined as a "belt" of land. I can't remember who it was (possibly Keith Ferry) but someone with considerable experien...

Re: Chairman's statement

Going back to the way TK phrased his statement: During the long months of Covid, I busied myself with trying to find a way to bring the Club back home and met with Barnet Council to ask for their support in locating a suitable site on which I could build a new stadium. I undertook to fund the full ...

Re: Chairman's statement

Here's the Downhill Second Half view . What a day. Amazing stuff. We are the famous Barnet FC and we come from Underhill. Thanks that just about captures it for me too. One thing that is worth remembering is that when we campaigned in the local council elections in 2006 we helped Labour to retain i...

Re: Chairman's statement

IIRC the cricket club freehold belongs to the council, the possibility of getting hold of even more council owned land on the cheap must have been quite a draw. I'm quite sure TK owns that freehold, has done for some time. That's how the cricket pitch car park was used for extra parking on match da...

Re: Aldershot (Away) The Underhill! Underhill! Match Thread

So....... Tuesday sees the bees take the short march around the M25 to take on playoff rivals Aldershot Town FC in the bananarama league. Aldershot was little more than a stretch of dirt on the Surrey countryside before the army came but is now a thriving army town. Major figures who lived in Alder...

Re: Chairman's statement

This might sound controversial... but I've got used to The Hive and don't want to move again. The stadium will look great once south stand is built and that monstrous utility building that looks like an industrial estate office block. Fair play to TK for locating a site, entering dialogue with Barn...

It’s in the pre-application phase, so presumably there isn’t an application yet.

Re: Chairman's statement

Where's Derek? Surely he's up to speed on this. Anyone want buy a Back 2 Barnet Campaign T Shirt, it comes with a complimentary copy of Phil Fetherstone’s classic tune, and an “I told you what was possible” sticker ! :hi: If he pulls this off he can deliver on several promises we thought he would a...

Re: Ronnie Edwards

For me the important questions are : 1. Regardless of the reasons Wealdstone lost control of the site, was there any condition that they be tenants under reasonable terms as part of any deal that rewarded the site to someone else ? 2. If so, why did that not happen ? Here is the Harrow Council docu...
