Re: Bromley (THTS) The Thin Lilywhite Duke Match Thread
I thought Freeman played better than I'd expected and was disappointed to see him go off (although still looks to be lacking a bit of fitness, so understandable subbing him I guess).

Re: Bromley (THTS) The Thin Lilywhite Duke Match Thread
Really strong performance from Keeley - didn't put a foot wrong as far as I recall - certainly had more to do than their keeper, which might suggest we should be grateful for th point. Defensively, I actually thought Collinge looked a bit uncertain at times tonight - not quite up to his usual standa...

Re: Maidenhoof (Away) The Sparkes Fly Match Thread
Couldn’t make it yesterday but there are definitely parallel universes in play here - DB’s comments (great performance, should have won) versus the comments on here, especially during the game (seemingly we were outplayed for 70-80% of the time). Can’t have been watching the same game.

Doesn't really matter when the club is moving anyways, short-term pain for long-term gain attendance wise.

Re: York City (The Hive Tenporary Stadium) The Say Harrow Wave Goodbye Thread
How did Freeman do? [/quote Saw him for the first time yesterday (other than highlight clips) and very impressed. Ticked all the right boxes - good level of involvement in the game, strong and skilful on the ball and used it well. Had thought he was a winger but played fairly central yesterday and ...

Re: York City (The Hive Tenporary Stadium) The Say Harrow Wave Goodbye Thread
Stead reminds me of Liam Hatch, very messy player but an absolute pain to play against I don’t think he’s that messy actually - he’s got decent technique, alongside his boundless energy. I think they’ve got the makings of a really effective partnership up front, as shown by the first goal, where Od...

Re: Chairman's statement
Must admit my initial enthusiasm has dimmed considerably as bitter memories of Copthall and South Underhill come flooding back - and then the Standard article. The priority must surely be to try to address the concerns the council and local residents are likely to have. Green Belt is obviously forem...

Rather surprised to get the email urging me to buy tickets. I'm a season ticket holder.

https://youtu.be/3W2YNIepuqc Their guy who is pretty good in his VLOGs. At the end you can see Walker winding them up a tad. Can’t stop replaying our goal - what a roar from the Bee Army. Absolutely loved us throwing bodies on the line near the end too. You can just see the raw passion when Laurie ...

Re: Sarfend (hive) The Butterfly Prawn Effect
It always appears that, down the years, whenever we beat an alleged "bigger" club, at least in the eyes of some of their fans, we are either lucky, undeserving or do it by some dubious method. Yeah, but then again I suppose our attitude to Borehamwood has been similar in recent years. Wha...

Re: Sarfend (hive) The Butterfly Prawn Effect
Fonguck, Taylor & Vilhette obviously very well known to us and, not wishing to be harsh, but they’re bog standard average players who wouldn’t get into our current lineup. I admired Southend’s spirit but overall they look a pretty ordinary side, probably punching above their weight (though obvio...

Re: Boreham Wood (Hive) The Reindeer Hoof Match Thread
Not to detract in any way from our performance, we played some lovely stuff but that was unlike any Borehamwood side we've seen before. Utterly shambolic, no fight, no physicality, huge gaps at the back and for large parts of the game couldn't even get hold of the ball. One of the worst sides I've ...

Re: Boreham Wood (Hive) The Reindeer Hoof Match Thread
Having watched the highlights it’s hard to believe that the opposition really was Borehamwood. The amount of time and space they were allowing us was criminal (from their perspective of course) and it seems they’re not half the same team without Fyfield to marshal the back line (and orchestrate the ...
