Best mates with Stephen Vaughan isn't he? For all of his deficiencies as a manager, you can't say that about Mark Stimson.

Re: Club Statment on Copthall

Can I point out that Saracens haven't actually done wrong in this? They are a Barnet club and it is their right to move back here if they want. If we were given a free place to build a stadium, would we worry about another club we might be trampling on? No, so we cant judge Saracens for doing that....

2 ties, 3 matches as the area finals are two-legged.

Re: Colchester United v Barnet JPT Match thread

Here's a thought for half time... At which point of this competition do fans really start to care about it? Don't get me wrong, I want Barnet to win every match we play in. But there's so much apathy from supporters towards this trophy. Who remembers the area semi against Cambridge Utd when we were...

Re: McLeod's Penalties

Hendon was actually a fairly mediocre penalty taker, precisely because he only had one method. The only reason that's forgotten is that he always scored when it really mattered which was a question of character as much as anything else. Don't know why anyone is questioning Izale. He was very profic...

1 in 4? I doubt that counts as many but obviously you do.
Even Mark Hughes has scored 1 in 4 so what is the point your trying to make?
Izale scored 2 last night, which makes 2 in 4.

Re: Lee Harrison Testimonial - The BIG Match

I know that the answer to Moonchildbee's second question is Lincoln City. I don't know who the first one would be - either Swansea City, Scunthorpe Utd or Plymouth Argyle from what I can surmise.

Oh, they most certainly were as unpopular as Crawley Town currently are. They weren't called Rushden then but £ushden.

I think it's on the other side of the NCR, near the Picadilly Line bridge over the NCR and close to Middlesex University.

I think the floodlight failure occurred after we equalised but that was an excellent second half performance from us that night. Pity it didn't continue like that for the rest of the 05/06 season.

Not sure they were big enough names to get excited about in the first place!

Re: Barnet Billy Big Boys who turned out to be Rubbish XI

In fairness, we didn't get to really see if Chris James was any good as in classic Fairclough style he was signed to great (well, medium sized) fanfare, and then only ever played for about 5 minutes, while he persisted with players that were clearly not up to the job. Eh? He was signed by Ian Hendon...

Re: Barnet Non-Team Of The Decade

I don't think anyone's mentioned David Hillier yet when we had him at the beginning of the 2002/03 season. He was quite a big name signing after playing regularly for Arsenal and Portsmouth in the nineties but he was absolute shite. Overweight and couldn't be bothered. I remember we lost 4-2 up at ...
