We havn't been playing particularly well, but if we continue playing as we have been in the league, and average the same amount of points per game for the games we have in hand we'd be 11th.

With goal difference we're 3 clear from the drop zone. On average, to be behind Dover 4th bottom would require us to get zero points from the following 8 games:

Solihull Moors (a)
Sutton United (a)
Barrow (h)
Halifax (a)
Gateshead (a)
FC Halifax Town (h)
Hartlepool United (h)
Harrogate (h)

That's based on Dover continuing their average of 1 point a game over the next 3 games.

Those to travel to every game, fair play to you having to travel to Solihill, Halifax, Gateshead and Fylde away in next 5 games...

But i'm not worried for a while. Normally 45-51 points would see you safe. Let's take the top amount and aim for 52. That's 17 points in 19 games. 49 points would have seen us safe last season - that's 12 points in 19 games. We're OK.

Last night's game was almost a copy of the game at Carshalton. In the first half they sat back and we just kept passing the ball sideways and showed no invention or pace, especially compared to Carshalton. Our attacks were laboured, complex and involved too much passing and it was only when we tried something different that we scored. We were always vulnerable to a break away by them and so it proved when they scored their first goal. Playing so far up the pitch created risks. A slip by Sweeney and we're in trouble.

Second half was similar to the first leg. Carshalton brought on their fast No 11 who torn us apart in the last game and they stepped up the pace. Fortunately they weren't as successful but they did have a few chances.

We seem to have no speed. Wes tried hard but as with others he had trouble hitting the target. EMC is improving but tends to make wrong decisions. Boucaud is very interesting to watch. He is very skillful on the ball but never even breaks into a trot. He would be great in a walking football team! I was pleased to see Bettamer come on but he didn't really make the most of the opportunity. He did do more than Harrison though! Good to see Harry back.

I worry that DC doesn't seem to be developing the style of play beyond the slow build ups. I will be at Solihull but fear an thrashing.

Agree with ETBee that last night was like the game at Carshalton, though we was a bit more at it in second half last night, you could tell they was part time as they was tiring the later the game went and thankfully so.
Shaqs second goal was a bit like his second goal in the original game as well.

We will have to make sure we take all the chances we create in the next round if we are to progress to the semi finals.

When you're arguing with an idiot, make sure the other person isn't doing the same.
