Dennis Roach RIP
Centre half when I first watched Barnet in the 1960s
Re: Dennis Roach RIP
Me too. He was captain when my elder brother first took me to see Barnet in 1964. First three games I went to he lifted a trophy!

Sad to hear. Dennis was the typical old-fashion centre-half, tall, big in girth, not too much pace, he relied on his fellow defenders to cover for him if the opposition managed to get pass and he was great in the air. He was captain of a good team and was well respected. After finishing playing he became an agent and went on to look after the great Johan Cryff. RIP Dennis.

Re: Dennis Roach RIP
I remember Dennis very well. He was a commanding centre half a great captain. He had a carpet shop in Borehamwood and Johnnie Barr our goalkeeper was his accountant. Dennis organised a tour to Cork in Ireland together with Wealdstone where we played in a tournament with Cork Celtic and Cork Hibernian. Coincidentally it was the Whitsun weekend. A couple of days before they were due to leave he contacted me and another Barnet supporter and asked if we wanted to go with them as they had two spare seats on the plane. We of course both went. Two of the Wealdstone players on that trip, Peter Anderson and Keith Searle went on to play for us.
Dennis became a football agent, apparently he was on holiday in Spain and his son was playing on the beach with another boy. That boy turned out to be Johan Cruyff’s son. Cruyff and Dennis became friends and eventually Dennis became his agent.
RIP Dennis, you were a great person.
