I can see Nelson going to money bags Barrow in the summer. I wouldn't be fussed with Nelson going, his mobility is clearly an issue and his distribution is poor, if we're to compete near the top end of the table we need a better option to partner Dembele than Nelson or N'Gala.

Very surprised to read such a comment about Nelson's distribution. Clearly he could hardly be described as technically gifted, but I've always been hugely impressed by the way he retains the ball wherever possible, and resists the 'lump it anywhere' approach whenever he can. He's extremely composed on the ball, even in tight situations or when put under pressure. It's one area where the contrast with N'Gala, who does obviously have a number of qualities, is very stark indeed.

Barrow is hardly any closer than us for travelling from the North East.

Barrow to Newcastle is 140 miles and takes 2 hours 42 minutes to drive as per Google Maps. It actually takes the same amount of time by train as it would from The Hive. I think if Nelson wants to go back up north he'd be able to find more convenient clubs than Barrow.

In fairness we don;t know he does want to go up north - just seems logical, he may want to stay with us for one more year or until January at least, we only got 0.5 of a season out of him anyway so hopefully feels he owes us a bit more game time.

Dunno why people are bothered about our CB paring, Dembele & Nelson with Bonz as back up is solid enough. Our form since Christmas shows we can compete with that back line.

The question is, where are the goals gonna come from?

We need more goals from midfield, we need players who are gonna have the odd pop from distance and actually test the keeper. As much as Weston has done for us, especially towards the back end of last season, it's time for Allen to move on and find another attacking midfielder who can bag 10+ goals for us. Randall appears to have a bit of this about him but lacks the tenacity and strength we need to be starting every week.

Also up front we clearly need another option other than Gash or Akinde, a player similar to Mclean who actually filled this role pretty well earlier in the season.

Just wondering what type of forward(s) do we need for next season? Obviously one who can hopefully score tons of goals, but is it a more physical Akinde type, a Vardy type speed merchant or what? Interested in hearing you views on what we need.

Watching the Braintree game on BT Sport to get now, Akinola looks a class player. Running the show at the moment.

If Braintree don't win the play-offs (or even if they do) he would be a great addition to our squad.

Not disagreeing with you but I suspect he'd find L2 defences somewhat different to the almost non-existent defence that he was up against today.

MA was at a pre-season friendly against Dag & Red to watch Sim. When I spoke to MA at half time he hadn't been impressed and said "He hadn't turned up"

I told MA that I thought Sim was good enough to play in League One. There's certainly been plenty of scouts down at Cressing Road checking him out. He's got a good touch, good pace, good spring and scores goals. I think any decent offer will see him leave; like Barnet the board at Braintree don't stand in the way of a player's progress.

Yiadom and his agent are more than likely in the process of negotiating a £75k+ signing on fee which a L1 (maybe even Championship side) no chance he will be here next season...

Hence why he did not budge in January when Barnet were hoping for £200k for him

Yet I hope to be proved wrong

IMO we need a CB, CM and CF - the latter being a little speed merchant!

And definitely a new manager!! (Tongue in Cheek there before you all start!!)
