The millionaire founder of Friends Reunited?
Former Barnet player too!

I didn't get my pint but I did get to see a dominant Hadley performance and a great goal to win it.

Was delighted to hear about Barnet taking the lead but gutted for all my friends who had a wasted journey to Wales. Safe travels home folks.

Agree with all of your sagacious words, hendon4bee. Fantastic post.

I couldn't get to Newport (in the end, thankful I didn't!) so went to the Hadley FA Cup game against London Colney (who had won all six of their previous games) instead, thanks to this post. Nice little ground, friendly people, acceptable footie, and Hadley grew in to the game and should have had at least a couple of goals more than the solitary one they did score. And bugger that, I went off to get a cup of tea about a minute before the half-time whistle and missed the frigging goal, which I was told was pretty spectacular! Aaaaargh :grrr:

I shall in future go to Hadley games if I can't get to any Barnet away games. Plus it was only 6 quid!!!!

well I shall go to a Hadley game asap. I do have a personal link....here is Hadley early 1880s with my Great Grandaddy W J Wilmott standing far right. He later played and sometimes captained Barnet Fc at Queens Road.

You will enjoy the experience Hertssteve. There were several Bees fans there, the game was good, Hadley, justifiably, won and as a result collect £3000 and go into the hat for tomorrow's draw. Sadly, I think the next round clashes with a Barnet home game. That, for me, takes preference, but I will attend as many future Hadley games as possible.
Incidentally, my expenditure on Saturday for Concession Entrance, one Programme and two coffees totalled £5.60.
A five minute wait fir the 107 bus after the game and I was in The Mitre by 5.20pm.
Quite acceptable.

Yep I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon at Hadley FC. A very friendly place, some decent football at times, and a few familiar faces from the old days on the East Terrace. I didn't know about the free pint though, I missed out there! I'll definitely go back.

Tough draw for them in the cup at home to Kings Langley.

I hope it goes to a replay as I have friends in that neck of the woods.

The home game is on the Saturday.

I think they got it comparatively easy, they could have been drawn away at a Step 2 club.

Excellent. What date is the next round? Is it the 1st qualifying round?
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!
