Any help or advice re Cambridge away
Evening fellow Bees...
My friend and I are desperate to go to Cambridge away, but the wonderful Great Northern don’t run any trains on Boxing Day.
We’re both 18 and have no other way to get there - the taxis and coaches are extremely pricey!
Would anyone be able to advise me of another travel arrangement? And please don’t respond with “don’t bother going”!
Many thanks.

Steve Percy runs a minibus from Barnet. Not sure what the priceis- probably £20-25 I would think.

Whilst we're at it could someone find out Steve's Exeter prices and booking info thanks.

Cambridge away is one of the must do away games of the season. How the FL could arrange it on a day when there's no trains is beyond me. We always have 600+ there but I can't see more than 200 this year. Disappointing for both clubs I would think.

You can speak to Steve at the Cheltenham game- or someonehere can probably private message you with his mobile number.

I can't make Cambridge either - certainly is one of the best away matches of the season. Bloody trains.
At least Crawley in the new year is getting nearer now. We usually do well there. Could be our first match for nearly a fortnight if Carlisle win tonight in the FA Cup.

Re: Any help or advice re Cambridge away
There are basically no trains in the UK in most parts of the country on Boxing Day. Partly for this reason, the football league arrange matches between sides who are close by, to keep travel times down on a day when public transport is scarce. And also to ensure players don't have long trips that require an overnight stay. As Cambridge is close by this game is always going to be the sort of one that could get fixed up for boxing day.beew wrote:Cambridge away is one of the must do away games of the season. National express coaches are also running on Boxing Day. They drop off a stiff walk from the ground but it's another option.
Incidentally for those going I am local to Cambridge and would highly recommend The Wrestlers pub on Newmarket road for a pre match beer. It's a real ale Mecca and does some great Thai food as well. More cosy and also nearby is The Green Dragon but the food and beer isn't as good.
If you're heading to the city centre at all The Pint Shop is worth a visit. Bit hipster but does a great range of beers

I'm disappointed to be missing Cambridge away for family reasons. However the fixture list is never perfect and I do think it's much better for fans and players alike that we play local clubs on Boxing Day. I'd just have preferred to have been missing Luton away.

If you want to book on you just go up to him and he puts your name down on his list, you pay on the day of game.Letsbeehavinyou wrote:Whilst we're at it could someone find out Steve's Exeter prices and booking info thanks.
I would guess the price will be £25 or £30.
