Fuad Sule
Re: Fuad Sule
David’s did just fine as a holding midfielder with us in League 2. The only problems he had performance-wise was when he played himself as a left-sided forward, and then he was poor all round in the Conference season when it seemed as though his heart just wasn’t in it anymore)
One of the best defensive midfielders in the lower leagues in recent years has been Alan McCormack. A bit taller than Sule but, at 5”8, hardly a giant. Going back a few more years, Derek Payne used to get on all right.

Derek Payne had Duncan Horton along side him - a proper defensive/holding midfielder!Tuesds wrote:David’s did just fine as a holding midfielder with us in League 2. Re: Fuad Sule
The 4-5-1 deployed towards the back end of 2012/13 with Davids and Nurse out wide was a major factor in us going down IMO.Tuesds wrote:David’s did just fine as a holding midfielder with us in League 2. Re: Fuad Sule
Personally I thought it was more to do with the fact that we got 3 points out a possible 48 in the first 16 games of that season under Mark Robson.#Beebot wrote:The 4-5-1 deployed towards the back end of 2012/13 with Davids and Nurse out wide was a major factor in us going down IMO.Tuesds wrote:David’s did just fine as a holding midfielder with us in League 2. Re: Fuad Sule
Admittedly Davids turned more or less the same team into one that then averaged play off form for the rest of the season, but he did make a tactical mistake in a couple of games in his first ever managerial roleHiveoccupier wrote:Personally I thought it was more to do with the fact that we got 3 points out a possible 48 in the first 16 games of that season under Mark Robson.#Beebot wrote:The 4-5-1 deployed towards the back end of 2012/13 with Davids and Nurse out wide was a major factor in us going down IMO.Tuesds wrote:David’s did just fine as a holding midfielder with us in League 2. The way I saw it was that Davids had us doing well until around March and then adopted very negative tactics which persisted until he left the club.MCB wrote:Admittedly Davids turned more or less the same team into one that then averaged play off form for the rest of the season, but he did make a tactical mistake in a couple of games in his first ever managerial roleHiveoccupier wrote:Personally I thought it was more to do with the fact that we got 3 points out a possible 48 in the first 16 games of that season under Mark Robson.#Beebot wrote:The 4-5-1 deployed towards the back end of 2012/13 with Davids and Nurse out wide was a major factor in us going down IMO.Tuesds wrote:David’s did just fine as a holding midfielder with us in League 2. A shame as he was doing very well.
Re: Fuad Sule
He's got squad number 39.
I assume because that's his height in feet and inches.
