NOOOOOO(Westley New Manager)OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Re: NOOOOOO(Westley New Manager)OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Local paper on his departure from Peterborough
"Westley didn’t name an unchanged side once from January 16 onwards. Players became confused, especially new signings like Adil Nabi and Harry Toffolo who were quickly deemed unfit for purpose. Straight after an honourable FA Cup exit, Westley made over 50 changes in the following eight matches as players came in, went out and came back in again. Westley was a ‘Hokey-Cokey’ manager with the inevitable losses of form, matches and league position."
Go to hope TK has done his due dilligence and spoken to Barry Fry and the Stevenage chairman!

Today is not a good day for Jack Taylor.
Nor for poor old Fuad Sule. A promising young player who comes with rave reviews from the League of Ireland, he arrives bursting with enthusiasm... and then two days after his promising debut the club appoints a manager who doesn’t like to pick anyone in his position who is any less than a foot or so taller than him.

When was our last proper full time experienced manager? Fairclough?
Re: NOOOOOO(Westley New Manager)OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I would now expect Jack to leave Barnet before the end of January as there are clubs interested. That is unless the chairman wants an unreasonable sum for him.Tuesds wrote:Today is not a good day for Jack Taylor.

It's the end of the line here for many of our creative players I suspect.Tuesds wrote:Today is not a good day for Jack Taylor.

We're likely to see wholesale squad changes. I fear for pretty much everyone in the U23s as well as Mauro and JT.

Its strange, all this mumbo-jumbo about DOF, Football technical manager, First team coach, Director of operations, Assistant Tea Maker, all seemed to have started around PF's time.beew wrote:When was our last proper full time experienced manager? Fairclough?
I wish someone big enough would just stand up and be counted, rather than finding different things to hide behind.

Re: NOOOOOO(Westley New Manager)OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Is TK taking the proverbial or does McGhee know nothing about this club?
Presumably Steve Evans turned us down, which is why we've ended up with Graham Westley.

Let's look at Wessle:

That's a half decent CV. We're Barnet FC. What do people expect? Edgar Davids?
Graham Westley has achieved many objectives that would count as successes and is an unusual and interesting mix:
He passed 10 O Level’s, 3 A/O Level’s and 2 A Level’s.
He attained a Masters’ Degree.
He is a Chartered Director and a Fellow of the IOD.
He played in the Football League as a professional footballer.
He represented England at U17 & U18.
He has created, built and sold a multi-million-pound business in the blue chip arena.
He is a UEFA B, UEFA A and UEFA Pro Licenced Coach with a Certificate in League Management.
He has managed over 800 football games including spells at Rushden & Diamonds, Stevenage, Peterborough United and Preston North End.
He has won 3 promotions, reached 4 major finals, achieved 6 play-off qualifications, secured an FA Trophy at Wembley, won various smaller cups and killed countless giants in Major Cup Competitions.
He was awarded the title of being a BBC Regional Coach of the Year and his team was awarded a BBC Team of the Year accolade.
He has recently been referenced as 'the king of the FA Cup run' being top of the League Two Manager leader board winning the most FA Cup Prize Money.

Re: NOOOOOO(Westley New Manager)OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
We were heading for the conference without much of a fight. We are very badly organised from midfield to defence.
We have a squad that is very weak in every department off the ball. Nelson and Santos have become pussycats.
Managers like Westley will make us organised, tough and not so nice Barnet.
I understand why people are upset.Right now. Westley could be the manager we need .

Re: NOOOOOO(Westley New Manager)OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
But this is the issue isn't it. We have many "creatives" who have combined to create this mess. The basic art of defending is lost in the midfield onwards and centre halfs need to concentrate on getting basics right. The only midfielder coming through who has shown defensive potential is Fonguck. We have too many other samey players who offer nothing different - Kyei, Shomotum, Mason-Clarke etc. - time to make a decision on who's a keeper - if we have to save money as a club - don't put the ticket prices up - shift the players - how can it be we have a first team squad bigger than the 25 a Premier League club operates with !#Beebot wrote:It's the end of the line here for many of our creative players I suspect.Tuesds wrote:Today is not a good day for Jack Taylor.

Good morning
Long time County fan (68)
Coming in peace.
Totally sorry for you all.
Unbelievable appointment.
Without doubt apart from Terry Butcher the most incompetent manager in our History.
For the first few weeks you will be impressed every set piece will be different but then the rot sets in.
Firstly players get knackered and walk out of training and get told they will never play for the team again.
He will take over the club, Directors unbelievably do not get a look in.
It just got worse and worse he signed some short term players to replace those he had upset but were all useless.
Then after Xmas the board agreed to him signing about another 10 again most useless or poor with 2 gems.
O'Brien & Demetriou but didn't get the best out of them either.
It finally came to a end when bottom of the table Orient turned up with a new manager and a bunch of kids and stuck 4 on us.
He had to go but still it wasn't his fault, nothing ever is.
Our Chairman asked the players why they were loosing week after week and the concensus was that they were all knackered.
Flynny was appointed and look where we are now.
Untried new manager 100% better than the idiot you now have running or maybe ruining your club.
Wish you well and will watch results with interest.
Tutonda was class as was Jamie for us but no idea how they are playing for you now.
Sorry but with his track record you are down and out.
Miracles do happen so wish you the best.
Need to know anything more about Westley just ask.
