Re: Not for the faint hearted........
The truth probably lies between Chester and Hartlepool. Both club's with a better support but in danger of administration/liquidation and all that follows. I sometimes think you'd be happier with us going down this road and the ground being sold, as it has been, but for no benefit for Barnet FC, but in the long run we'll all be happy that we went down the drain in the borough of Barnet. Please tell me that I'm wrong.ricardobee wrote:"Predictable! Why don't you give it a rest!

Your wrong.
Benefit of Barnet FC? Now playing out of the borough? Benefit of the supporters, watching a team at the bottom of the league again?
Benefit of the chairman? I'll leave that one for you.
Would I be happy going down the drain in Barnet, No, I'd been a lot happier if given the choice to move from Barnet (as was promised).
And obviously a new chairman, who was a Barnet supporter.

Re: Not for the faint hearted........
So very sad. I cannot help feeling that it is appropriate that Barnet's final death throes in the league come as the floodlights are brought down over Underhill.
At least we still have a club to support unlike Enfield, and for those who decided that the move to the Hive was too much for them to take, there is Hadley FC down at Barnet Gate.
No point trying to point score against the chairman now. The ground has gone, and a large piece of the clubs soul has gone with it.

I think Arsenal fans still feel bitter about the move from Woolwich!

Thought you might be there to find that sixpence you dropped when buying a programme against Colchester in the FA Cup.

That day I was selling the programmes. The only time I ever dropped any money I remember seeing you pick it up.
When I went to Underhill just prior to the demolition starting I did look for the old penny I cemented into the terrace when I helped to build the the Supporters Association shop and the top row of terracing on the east terrace. Unfortunately it had already gone.

I'd actually heard that the dropped sixpence might actually have hit Reckless on the back of his neck on it's way down!
Just a completely unsubstantiated rumour though!

Can still picture the Burnley fans clinging onto that back part of the East Terrace during the 0-0 draw in 1992. That was the game where fat Stan announced the attendance a little lower than it actually was.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Did Fat Stan ever declare a correct attendance?ninestein wrote:Can still picture the Burnley fans clinging onto that back part of the East Terrace during the 0-0 draw in 1992. That was the game where fat Stan announced the attendance a little lower than it actually was.

There should be a statue of Fat Stan at the Hive.

Last season I thought both Martin and TK were auditioning to be a fat sam look alike as both had been indulging on too many pies.*

Was that the day when allegedly there were many fake £50 notes taken at the away turnstiles? Fortunately these were spotted when they were being deposited at the bank.Bee52 wrote:Did Fat Stan ever declare a correct attendance?ninestein wrote:Can still picture the Burnley fans clinging onto that back part of the East Terrace during the 0-0 draw in 1992.
