Potential new buyers pull out and the current owners say the club can no longer run on a full time basis

On another note Crawley have signed winger Ashley Nathaniel-George from Hendon. He has also played for Potters Bar Town. He looks a good prospect, shame they have picked him up from under our nose.

Heed going part-time has been offset by Halifax going full-time.

Bit hard to see how they'll recruit a decent squad of part time players who can hold down other jobs yet still be able to get time off work for all the travelling to the other end of the country. This league is quite southern heavy.

Paul Showler and Mark Carter managed it with talent to spare. There are some very good players who choose not to become fulltime as pay packet will be nothing
like what can be earned away from football.

It's astonishing how many full time football teams there are in England alone. My friends in Europe and beyond are amazed that 3rd and even 4th tier teams are full time let alone 5th and 6th.
This something the great tit Greg Dyke failed to appreciate with his ill thought Premier B concept. The reason why La Liga have B teams in the first place is precisely because they do not have the depth of
league structure.

I remember when we were trying to sign Barry Hayles from Stevenage we couln't match his part time football pay plus his part time job wages so he ended up going to Bristol Rovers who, as we know, is one of the biggest and richest clubs in the World.

Although they both ended up full time footballers after they left us. Paul Showler not being able to play vs Charlton in the FA Cup was a huge loss for us as he was on police duties. Probably at another football game...
