Have to agree, but I'm happy to be proved wrong.Beesting wrote:Another underwhelming summer of signings, these are average conference players we have brought in, not the cream of the crop. We will not be competing at the top of this league.

If we have 0 pts after 4 games then criticise... having lost at home to Braintree & Eastleigh , two teams much less likely to challenge, based on nothing in particular. Aldershot and Harrogate , we'll do well to get a point from...I'd rather have players who want to prove themselves at a higher level than those on their way down who think they're better than NL.

Harrison had a strike rate of 1 goal in every 2 matches in the previous two seasons so I can’t see how he’d be described as average.Beesting wrote:Another underwhelming summer of signings, these are average conference players we have brought in, not the cream of the crop. Those not impressed with the striker signing - give me names of who else you would have brought in up front....genuinely!!!

We wanted a number 9 with physical presence so now we have one. Let's give all the new signings a chance and they make tomorrow's game more appealing.

Excellent scoring record in his first season - a goal every 1.5 games - but then he got injured and scored 14 in 43 last season.rudebwoyben wrote:Harrison had a strike rate of 1 goal in every 2 matches in the previous two seasons so I can’t see how he’d be described as average.Beesting wrote:Another underwhelming summer of signings, these are average conference players we have brought in, not the cream of the crop. He's not here to be primary goalscorer anyway but I hope he can still fulfil the target man role. We're in trouble if he gets injured as the team is set up to be based around a big #9.
It will be interested to see what happens to the wider squad. It's huge now, but there are players in reserve who can do things the starting XI cannot. Still did say he wanted a squad of 20 or so. That means wholesale departures unless he's changed his mind and wants a big safety net.

The kids won't pay much of a part, he's already outlined that. It takes the squad to that number when you take them out.
Re: New signing: Our new No.9 is...
Still said squad of 20 plus about 5 "kids" with potential.

Looking forward to rolling out the old "Harrison Harrison Harrison" classic again...

Have we Shelleyd lots of Pounds for him? Worried he may get a Frostie reception, we have a lot of Poe faced supporters. If he proves himself Hardy and Keats on scoring, those fans will go Wilde.
Thats it, I'm Donne.
