Braintree (THL) The Match Thread in the Hot Seat
So, Tuesday sees the bees return to Bananarama action versus Braintree Town. The last time we played in this league at THL Mauro powered us to promotion glory.
3 years and umpteen managers later we find ourselves back where in non league playing Braintree Town in front of a sub 1,000 crowd.
The club have decided to shut the terrace for this game leaving south standars with nowhere to stand and West Standers paying over the odds for their season ticket.
It is fair to say Braintree leave an impression either in terms of their dodgy pitch or the impression they left on muggleton’s knee cap.
After an encouraging display versus Aldershot the hope is that hive advantage and our superior fitness will tell in the face of scorching temperatures.
In terms of line up I would be tempted to give Jack Taylor a go in this one so:-
-----------------------cousins---------------------
-alexander--Sweeney--robson--johnson—
--elito--------Taylor---adams------sparkes—
----------------walker--harrison------------------
Subs- Matrevics, Tutonda, Fonguck, Coulthirst, Shomotun
Fingers crossed we put in another strong showing and leave Braintree standing.

Braintree are pretty limited and will be used to defending crosses and set pieces, so I'd be tempted to use Kyei or EMC on the left, Shaq over Harrison and keep Fonguck to counter their physicality.
We need to rotate anyway with so many games over the next couple of months.

650 sold in A-D of the Legends stand for tomorrow night. Confident we'll get into 4 figures.

They are not showing block E which is where my seat is. I hope they are not going to do anything silly and move us.

Did you see the goals they conceded at the weekend? They were from set pieces, by all accounts they were woeful defending set pieces.

Bit miffed the South Terrace is closed. Hope this doesn't become a trend.
EDIT: Sorry 'Bees Terrace' or whatever it's called these days

This is why I went for 5-0 bees in the prediction league. If we play like we did at the Shots at home against a shithouse team like Braintree then we should be comfortable from the start. I can see Sparkes causing mayhem with his deliveries.

Re: Braintree (THL) The Match Thread in the Hot Seat
I'm mildly concerned about this appearing to be a nailed on thrashing.
It certainly looks that way but could we possibly again snatch a draw from the jaws of victory?
I'm still betting on 3-1 though.

Wise move. There is only an upside to this.Norfolk & Chance wrote:I'm mildly concerned about this appearing to be a nailed on thrashing.
