Sam?
Sam?
I walked in to our local butchers yesterday with my 10 year-old Son who was wearing a Barnet shirt (kudos to him, no matter how dire or great we are doing he loves to wear his Barnet shirts). They guy behind the counter asked if he was a Barnet fan and we got chatting.
He told us that he played at Barnet from 1986 for a couple of years before going to Hendon, his name is Sam and he had quite a strong accent. As this was 4/5 years before I started attending games can anyone shed any light on who Sam is?

Re: Sam?
you couldn't of asked him his surname?
Re: Sam?
I have been racking my brain JZS and looking at my squad lists from that time. Sam is a name that is not coming up.
We had a Steve Cox in 86 and then 20 years later a Sam Cox. Are you getting in a muddle mate.

Apparently he's on a fair whack at the 85%ers.

He's taking money off them and not playing? Excellent.MCB wrote:Still there just frozen out. Re: Sam?
If you want to do the hard yards Hendon FC have a website page that has a list of former players. Unfortunately it is listed alphabetically by surname I gave up scanning at B ?jzsbee wrote:I walked in to our local butchers yesterday with my 10 year-old Son who was wearing a Barnet shirt (kudos to him, no matter how dire or great we are doing he loves to wear his Barnet shirts). Re: Sam?
Have checked I can confirm there is no Sam on the Hendon website who played in the 80s or early 90s.

I suspect he would have been up to Trialist 40+ if he played for the club for 2 seasons before moving on.
