Put it this way. He didn't earn any of his goalscoring bonuses and he didn't get the survival bonus either :-)

Did you see Barry check the colour of his jacket before announcing "sold to the fat bastard in the blue blazer"?

Off the back of that clip i watched the whole documentary on youtube last night. Was also looking at cars on ebay. Queue a dream over night with Barry trying to negotiate the purchase of an old pick up for me. Very, very, odd.

A mate of mine (wink) who had connections at Wycombe where De Souza signed from at the time said he would be a disaster. He scored about 6 goals in the season and ended up a year later at Rushton.
Barry didnt always get it right.

Barry had signed him at Birmingham where he had managed a creditable 0 goals in 15 games so i'm sure he felt confident that he could offer him the moon for 30 goals.

I've mentioned this before but anyone who hasn't downloaded / listened to this yet should do immediately, it's had me in tears.

Heard Barry tell all these stories before (he's very polished) but they always make me laugh.

Love it!

Typical Bazza. A stand or bar should/could be named after him at the Hive. Only BLUE language used in that room. I'm sure there's thousands of stories about Barry Fry? Has he ever had an autobiography out?

I'll have a look for a copy of it online. Harry Redknapp's have been enjoyable. There was a chapter on him getting one over on Barry Fry, when he signed a young Mark Newson (we signed him ten years later when he was knackered!), Redknapp discovered Newson's contract was nearly up and made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Baz went mad and all Harry said on the phone at the end was "Unlucky Barry!" "Ha ha ha!" They're now good mates. I wonder if Barry mentions that story? :ouch:
