Scottish Challenge Cup

Post: # 256700Post simmosenior »

Boreham Wood and Sutton (plus The New Saints, Bohemians, Crusaders and Sligo Rovers) are all playing in the Scottish Challenge Cup 2nd round tomorrow. Indeed, Boreham Wood are at home to Dunfermline. What is that about?

Its an invitational competition, basically the spfl's version of the checkatrade trophy. Sutton and Wood qualified as the highest placed teams still in the nl from last season.there are also 'colts' teams from the premier division teams from scotland.

Yes, Livi Colts are playing Sligo over in Ireland - another pointless competition played in front of two men and a dog

Bwood 0-0 Dunfirmline FT
Dunfirmline win 6-5 on pens.

HT Sutton winning 1-0 at Airdrie
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Sutton winning means our away match there on 13 October will have to be rearranged.

Oh ffs really?

A potentially nice autumn Saturday trip to Sutton or a more likely freezing November Tuesday night game when there is Champions league on tv to dampen the crowd slightly further.

When I went to Sutton for a pre-season friendly under Lawrie Sanchez a few years ago, the ground was set in a nice area with a pub just a minute away. Shame it's been switched.

Whilst I agree in principle with your sentiments, I hardly imagine it'll be "freezing" in early November!
