Top ex professionals

Post: # 258760Post Roy57 »

Seen comments on ex professionals who were not let's say very good. But
Over the years seen some top ex pros turn out for us who were very good and gave
100%. Such as ex Chelsea Marvin Hinton. Ex watford. Walter lees. Both played
In defence and were good players. Not to mention Jimmy greaves 1977-1979 who even at his
Age was still top goal scored and played with smile on his face. And when
Asked about his times at spurs. Milan he always said "and Barnet " anybody else
Got any ex-pros who they thought done a good job whilst with us.

More recently I'd say that Brian Stein, John Oster and Gary Breen did a sterling job for us in the twilight of their careers.

Alan Walker, John Fairbrother, Dennis Brown, Bob McNab all did well imho as did Ben Embery and at the time Pardew was ok , along with Marwood in that side they at least showed some class..

Brian Marwood was at Arsenal under George Graham and signed for us during the summer of crisis in 1993 when Gary Phillips cobbled a side together on the eve of the season.

Brian was involved with the PFA and was probably a good person to have around at a time when the surviving members of our squad from the Fry era had been through tough times getting paid etc.

Unfortunately, the injury curse struck early on in his Barnet career.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!
