However, a few things which might help people with trains, if you are a regular railuser e.g. for away games then you might want to consider a railcard if you haven’t already.

- If you regularly travel with the same person, you can purchase a Two Together railcard for £30 for the two of you. This gives 1/3 off all journeys for the two of you. It’s only for off-peak journeys so can’t be used before 09.30 on weekdays, but the weekends are fine. My other half and I have saved a loads with this railcard. Just wish we’d known about it sooner. And you can get as many as you like with different people. You’d likely make your money back the next journey, and you can use it on things such as the airport express services and off peak 1-6 travelcards too. You must obviously stay together at all times.

- Unfortunately doesn’t apply to me anymore but the 26-30 Railcard is coming back, which gives 1/3 off. Most of us will be familiar from this from our younger days, they took it away but now it’s back. It costs £30 so another journey and you’d make your money back straight away. This will be available on 2nd January to buy and can be used straight away. However, check out the T&C’s as there are some restrictions on times of travel but you should be mostly fine at weekends I think. ... s-tickets/

- If you have an annual season ticket and therefore a Goldcard, it means you can buy the Two Together (and maybe others) for £10.

- The Friends and Family Railcard might be helpful, though I know nothing about this one.

My 16-25 railcard makes it £37 return. Which is pretty manageable actually!
