Re: Average Attendances
The top four are no surprise, but a further seven or so former league sides, where attendance has plummeted

Re: Average Attendances
Stockport had just over 4000 fans yesterday in a conference north game, fair play

Re: Average Attendances
To be fair, Stockport aren't surrounded by major premier League and championship clubs.................oh, hang on a minute...............
Re: Average Attendances
They are also historically a bigger club than us , underperforming for some time now....Norfolk & Chance wrote:To be fair, Stockport aren't surrounded by major premier League and championship clubs.................oh, hang on a minute...............
Re: Average Attendances
Our average home attendance in the 2018/19 season was 1338. That compares with 2113 in our 2017/18 relegation season, 775 less per game, a 36.67% reduction.
In view of the relegation it was always going to be lower as the support from away fans was always going to be lower.
Even so, 1338 was much lower than I would gave predicted, even with a poor on-the-field season. For Gods sake, even Maidenhead United had a bigger average attendance!!
It just goes to show that people will not watch dross, regardless of how low the cost is.

Re: Average Attendances
The number of Tuesday night games certainly doesn't help that number - we know our Tuesday's are much lower.
People want winning football. If we're at the top we'll get the crowds. The formula isn't that hard to see the correlation. What I'd like to see us do is (when we're hopefully near the top next season), is give out the freebies when we're playing well - unlike some games this season when we were awful and enticing people to come to Barnet vs Barrow. Not a particularly enthralling proposition!

Re: Average Attendances
Not surprising at all for the reasons you mention.
Lincoln’s average in the conference was around 3,000... they’ve all come out the woodwork now they’re in League One.

Re: Average Attendances
I do hope the big decline in our attendances last season was a major concern to our Chairman.
NOW is the time to plan for the 2019/20 season to ensure that we increase our average attendance.
Personally, I don't care whether the Club gives out free tickets to school kids. BOGOF deals, Bring a Friend For Free deals or whatever,
JUST GET MORE SPECTATORS INTO THE HIVE!
A lot will depend on how DC gets the players performing, but, regardless of that the Club must do more to ensure our fan base goes up to something approaching the 2,000 level.
