13th in table as Bromley best orient. Great result tonight but as impressive as scoring 3 goals
Is not conceeding .again. That's six games now. Great work on training ground. And fantastic work by coaches but mainly Darren Currie. Totally agree with post on hear earlier saying
Come on TK sign him up now before someone else steps in. And on these results and clean sheets he will be in teams radar.

Sorry, but hasn't he already been given the job? I must have misunderstood something.

He's on a rolling contract, so effectively he can be given minimal notice as things stand.

In his pre-match video interview he makes clear that he doesn’t yet know if he will be manager next season.

We were under the cosh in the first 10 minutes, I'd have taken 0-0 at that stage.
Then we came into things and it was fairly even until the red card - which was a shocker.
Second half was quite astonishing. I cannot remember when Barnet were last so in control of a match. Eastleigh just gave up trying, they were that well beaten.
I am not sure how Eastleigh could be top of the form table since 1st January based on their performance tonight but let's just give Barnet all the credit!

Very professional performance tonight. I didn't think anybody was really outstanding, but pretty much the whole team gave a solid 7 out of 10 type performance. Eastleigh started the game really quickly - we were very much on the back foot for the first 10 minutes and Cousins made a couple of decent saves and Eastleigh wasted a couple of reasonable chances. However, having weathered the early storm we took complete control of the game even before they were reduced to 10 men. Unlike so many games this season our passing was generally pretty crisp and we rarely gave the ball away. It wasn't an entirely fluent attacking display - the first goal was scrambled from a corner, the second was the result of lightning reactions from EMC after a Harry Taylor shot hit a defender and looped up nicely for him and the third was a fairly soft penalty. There was still a dependency to look for the safe pass when there were forward options available and there were many occasions when an earlier forward ball might have yielded results. Nevertheless this was a very solid professional performance against a team that was probably a bit too hyped up. It was very much to our credit that Eastleigh pretty much gave up with 15 minutes left because they were just chasing shadows.

We weathered the storm, came out the other side.

Our goal took a pounding but we walked in fire and didn't let ourselves get caught by the river of eastleigh pressure.

In the end it was one of these days where everything clicked and we were so good the greatest denier couldn't have a complaint. By 80 minutes we were all thinking there goes the fear as we passed the ball comfortably round the Shitfires team.

Someday soon we will find out if we have what it takes to go up. For now I am on the 10.03 dreaming of Wembley in 2020.

Turns out in the aftermath of the red card, Ross Flitney was the man in the Eastleigh dugout sent to the stands.

Impressive away win, Cousins made some 3 decent saves in the first 10 minutes to keep them out, like Pletch99 said everyone had a good game but Harry Taylor stood out for me.

Very dominant performance after the first 10 mins according to their local radio.

What is so frustrating is that the top7 is very weak & we should have been at least within touching distance in a relatively poor league.

Torquay & Stockport coming up won’t help matters next season but if Orient & Salford sneak up that will balance it up slightly.

That was the best performance Ive witnessed this season by a country mile. Yes, Eastleigh got away quickly and we were lucky not to concede, but as the half progressed, we looked superb. Far faster in the final third, off the ball was better than I've seen in ages, Elliot getting so far forward, and Shaq looking so dangerous.

Keep the bulk of this squad, keep DC and his team, a handful of quality additions to the squad, we'll be up the top next season for sure.

Great result and continiing our run of not conceding in games. What do people put the latter down to ?

Is it that we have always had reasonable defenders who are now playing better as a unit because of consistent team selection and format, are they just getting better support from the midfield since Harry T came back into the first team, or something else ?

I think it has just taken longer than we'd have liked for DC to get the players all reading off the same page. Last month or so something has clicked and we're playing like we should have been all season. It is a shame as this is a very weak league this season and we have left it too late to start performing to our best.

Cousins usually does make decent saves. Now the defence are actually defending he has been able to get on with his day job - the wobble/slip versus Orient was due to a ridiculously complacent backpass that fell way short.
I see no reason why he should not be here next season as he is more than adequate for National League level and makes many saves.

If the strikers actually found the back of the net more frequently, it would not be up for discussion.

Coulthirst is my player of the season. He has overcome personal adversity, been asked to play as a number 9 out and out striker and has got on with it without complaint. It is not his fault he does not have the stature of John Akinde, but he has stuck to the task and his goal tally increases. It's the players around him who are failing to score, apart from Fonguck, however it's great to see EMC playing with increased confidence and finally contributing with goals.

I'm looking forward to Santos being fit enough to start. Only one in the squad who attacks headers and will be very important for set pieces. He is the only other player apart from Tarpey and Sparkes who hits the ball with intent and accuracy.

I have not lost hope in retaining Sweeney for another season at least. If you look at it from his perspective, previous managers did not show faith in him and perhaps he was concerned that as soon as players returned from injury who are position specialists i.e. Santos, Boucard, Taylor brothers etc. his playing time will be reduced. Robson is being used in a utility role at best and reminds me of how John Nurse was brought on in games to calm things down and steady the ship.

It's good to see that Reynolds has finally shown what he can do in the past few matches.
