Wow. Good luck Jack. I was clearing out programmes recently and i came across an under 21 game that I saw in Dublin. Stacky was their keeper.

Wasn't the Toulon Tournament the only one that England has won in recent years - when Michael Owen came of age?

To give a full indication of quality of players:
Republic of Ireland U-21 Squad

Goalkeepers: Caoimhin Kelleher (Liverpool), Conor Kearns (UCD AFC).

Defenders: Darragh Leahy (Bohemians), Conor Masterson (Liverpool), Dara O'Shea (West Bromwich Albion), Liam Scales (UCD AFC), Lee O'Connor (Manchester United), Tyreke Wilson (Manchester City), Canice Carroll (Brentford).

Midfielders: Jayson Molumby (Brighton and Hove Albion), Conor Coventry (West Ham United), Jason Knight (Derby County), Connor Ronan (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Neil Farrugia (UCD AFC), Stephen Mallon (Sheffield United), Zach Elbouzedi (Waterford), Simon Power (Norwich City), Jack Taylor (Barnet), Jamie Lennon (St. Patrick's Athletic).

Forwards: Adam Idah (Norwich City), Aaron Drinan (Ipswich Town, on loan at Waterford), Aaron Connolly (Brighton and Hove Albion).
The tournament, which begins on Monday, June 3, will see Ireland face Bahrain, China and Mexico in Group C in Provence, France.

nope, Owen 1st came to prominence in the 1997 world youth championships in Malaysia - only ever won 1 u-21 cap!

This is a great opportunity for Jack to push his game on and see different things that he won't get on the training pitch day to day with us.
Ultimately, it may help accelerate him moving on to bigger things, but for now, I hope he gets a decent amount of game time and comes back fresh for pre-season. Always proud to see one of our own getting international recognition.

He won't know what's happening when 4 out of 5 passes aren't hoofed straight over his head.

Well done Jack. Interestingly, Ireland could have an U23 team at the Olympics next summer. Hope Jack is still a bee at the end of the season.

They can't, only the 4 semi-finalists from this summer's U21 Euros can qualify and Ireland aren't in it.

Congrats to JT and a great experience for him.

I hope this helps jump forward his development and helps him contribute more to BFC next season

England vs Japan at 2 pm tomorrow gets the tournament underway. Hopefully, in two weeks the Young Lions will be celebrating being winners for a fourth consecutive time.
