The next 4 matches to determine our season?
Re: The next 4 matches to determine our season?
I'd be happy to lose every single one of them if it gave DC the opportunity to mold his own team.
But I would cry a little bit if Sweeney left.
Sim is on 12 in 24 league games though, so on course to hit 20 this season. Be harsh on him not to be given a new contract. And I imagine DC is a good manager for a winger to learn under - especially one who wants to progress up the leagues fairly late in his career.

I’d keep Mauro because of his versatility and he’s one of our own, I’d keep Simeon because his scoring record has been good this season and he’s definitely improved and I’d keep Walker for the same reasons.
Coulthirst and Santos have been injured too much to be reliable bets.
Tutonda is enormously frustrating, gets into great positions but his final ball rarely ever delivers.
I think Barham only works as a front man in very specific circumstances.
Alexander and Reynolds have both improved a lot this season. Have they improved enough? I don’t yet know.

Very interesting perspective
Reynolds really is a frustrating one for me as I just don't see it I don't think he wants it enough but maybe it's just me
I get your point on Shaq and Santos but a fully fit Shaq is super quality for this level as is Santos but that's big wages sat in a treatment room

If you keep Akinola, Walker, Barham and Shaq, you won't have room for the big target man (so badly missed this season) in a slimmed down squad. Something or someone will have to give. I personally think it will have to be Shaq because the type of striker we desperately need will demand the money he no doubt commands for spending much of the season in the treatment room.
PS: I almost forgot that Pavey will also be on the books. If anyone says he's the target man needed, I shall scream. Not one of DC's better signings, along with the mystery man from QPR.

I would say Reynolds is one of our best players!

It's true how different we all see thingswatfordbee wrote:I really rate Reynolds, funny how views differ!
Last season I really rated Robson and Adams and I got ridiculed many a time in the stands! especially for praising Robson
Re: The next 4 matches to determine our season?
Reynolds has been much better recently, he was a liability last season but much better this season especially playing with Harry Taylor.

Him and Robson seemed a troublesome pair together. Callum has been better this year but not a fantastic CB considering some of the defenders we've had (N'Gala and Stephens were superior players).
Re: The next 4 matches to determine our season?
I think that he has improved since he has been relieved of the captaincy! Also I think that Dunne is an excellent captain & a very influential/important player for us.b4life wrote:Reynolds has been much better recently, he was a liability last season but much better this season especially playing with Harry Taylor.
Finally I think that Harry Taylor could become/is becoming an excellent CB for us.
I love Luisma & really miss his skils!

I forgot to add that because of Harry's form we have hardly missed Dan Sweeney!

How many of Akinola’s goals this season have been penalties?rudebwoyben wrote:I’d keep Mauro because of his versatility and he’s one of our own, I’d keep Simeon because his scoring record has been good this season and he’s definitely improved and I’d keep Walker for the same reasons.

I would 100% release Reynolds, along with Adams and Bocaud.
We need more a few more James Dunne type players. Get stuck in, passion is clear from the way they play. High work rate.
Please, no more lightweight luxury players.

Would only keep:
Ricardo Santos (D)
David Tutonda (D)
Simeon Akinola (M) or Josh Walker (F)
Mauro Vilhete (M)
to allow for funds for the missing striker we need. . . .

Remove the penalties and he's still our top scorers (Jack Taylor has scored 8, including 2 penalties).
God knows why you'd want to get rid of him.
