Return of the Ak...

Post: # 289410Post BeesKnees99 »

Surprised there’s no thread on the possible return of Big John.

Confirmed on Twitter (through a leaked Instagram message) that he’d “love to come back to Barnet“.

DC has also confirmed he’d love to bring John back, but both have stated it’s “not that simple.”

Could our Akinde replacement be... Akinde?

We can only hope

Was the message along the lines of

“I have thought about coming back to Barnet but it’s not that simple”?

It probably won't ever happen, but just imagine if it did. The bounce it would give the place.

If he's out of favour at Lincoln, he could always get some game-time on loan....

There must be a long queue of League 2 sides who’d love to have him, so I’d be amazed - but obviously bloody delighted - if it happened.

He only needs around ten goals for a century for the club - he could knock those off in a three month loan spell!

Lol, he basically said "maybe one day" to a Barnet fan.

He's not coming back this season. Or next. Or the one after. I dream of Paul Showler on the wing, but he's not bloody returning either.

Maybe he'll see out his career with us. But, whilst he's on serious bucks, that ain't anytime soon.

He was linked with Salford and a league 1 club on sky sports news a few days ago.

Doubt he would want to go non league again at the age of 30.

Also Lincoln only have 2 senior strikers at the moment so would need to be a 1 in 1 out job.

Lincoln have just signed a very promising young striker from Arsenal on loan for the rest of the season - Tyreece John-Jules. He’s further up the pecking order than the lad (Balogun) who scored the hat-trick in the pre-season friendly last July, and he has been on the bench for Arsenal’s 1st team quite a few times. Michael Appleton has said he will definitely be getting regular game time at Lincoln as his number nine.
Which would suggest Akinde will be on the move, but probably not to the Hive unfortunately.

I read a couple of days ago that Plymouth were interested in Akinde. As much as I'd love to see him back at Barnet I can't see him returning permanently any time soon, although I can't see why a loan agreement couldn't be agreed if Lincoln cant sell him during the transfer window.

Could wonder why Lincoln don't want to play him. To date this season he's only started 3 league matches, although he has been sub in 18 others. Only scored 4 league goals, 1 being a penalty. I am not knocking him, obviously we'd all love to see him back. However his stats do suggest that maybe he's not the player he was.

Get a bloody grip. What planet are you on thinking we’re getting a League 1 striker because he apparently told a kid on instagram he might be back one day? FAKE F****** NEWS!!!

I actually agree with Masuka here.
And I also get the feeling that he’s not the player he once was with us.
