Farsley (Hive) The HOW MUCH? Match Thread

Post: # 289577Post Bee_Forever »

So...after Barnet surrendered a lead at Farsley with a patchwork lineup in poor conditions we have the deep joy of a replay at the Hive.

After balancing the books last week the club have taken the unpopular step of failing to match Farsley's ticket prices charging 15 quid for a competition we are ill equipped and seemingly motivated to compete in.

With Shaq, Harry, Sweens, Barham Santos and Walker unavailable it will be another make do and mend lineup but hopefully we will put in a better display. I would go:-

-----------------------------Loach------------------------------

---------Reynolds----Johnson---Tutonda-----------

--Vilhete---------Dunne-------Elito----Sparkes------

---------Mason-Clarke--Fonguck--Akinola--------

Subs: Azaze, Adams, Alexander, Chime, Vasilou

If the game is postponed hopefully they will sort refunds at a faster pace this time...

Shouldn't we have a 'trialist 1' somewhere in there?

Unless any trialist was registered before yesterdays game they couldn't play!

8 games unbeaten.
I'd back us to win this one and make it 9.......5 wins 4 draws.
Not a bad run at all really.

With the replay being only 3 days after the original tie, you might think that Farsley gave it everything and might not have much left in the tank.

In some respects, the same thought applied to the Potters Bar replay back in November. I suspect this will play out similarly. We will dominate the ball (we always do). They will be gutsy and have thd odd chance on the break. But our fitness and quality should eventually see us through. I'd like to see the drive and energy of Mauro in midfield. Now JT has gone, we need players in there who can get on the ball, carry it forwards and make defences backpedal.

Looking forward to the draw Monday lunchtime. Royston would be a great draw.

The comparison with the P.B. replay is a good one. Let's hope that's how it pans out ( although we could do without them scoring first as P.B. did!).

When is the draw for the last 16? I presume this lunchtime on TalkSport but not sure?

A home tie against lower division opposition at this stage would be good.

And no flares either...
Draw is at 1pm, but they will also be drawing the next round of the FA Vase as well.

You could always bring the cubs to a game to get their Supporters Badge!

Thought about it - but would really have to be Stake Buns as it's the home city

Don't think Vilhete will start as so close to Saturday. Think Chime worth a try up front from start. Fonguck seems to be struggling for whatever reason so perhaps time for him to have a rest also and try something different.
