Weather this week.......
Currently showing not good early in the week......do we sacrifice the daggers match to get Halesowen on??
Re: Weather this week.......
Simple, if the pitch is playable play the game, if not call it off!its only light rain showers forecast.BuzzardBee wrote:Currently showing not good early in the week......do we sacrifice the daggers match to get Halesowen on??
Re: Weather this week.......
Forecast not too bad for the coming week & more importantly dry on Saturday! A bit of rain on Friday but the games SHOULD go ahead fingers crossed! A big 10 days!
I love Luisma & really miss his skils!

Get through those 10 days then we have 3 away games on bounce to allow pitch to recover (in an ideal world without other teams using it!)JWTBee wrote:Forecast not too bad for the coming week & more importantly dry on Saturday! Re: Weather this week.......
According to the GFS output, cold front on Monday afternoon is going to give us a short spell of rain. Then almost identical to what happened last Tuesday, an intensifying band of showers is forecast between kick off and 9PM during the Daggers game.
Then looks like some very heavy stuff on Thursday morning followed by hit or miss showers on Friday evening.
Hopefully we can get at least one of these games on. If I had a preference, it would be the Trophy game for a proper Saturday afternoon cup atmosphere. I doubt Halesowen would bring as many on a Tuesday night.

Hard to judge by just looking at forecast, I was certain that after looking the forecast for Chorley during the week that our game yesterday was going to postponed.
Thankfully it was not.

Re: Weather this week.......
Why have the club not borrowed covers to try and protect the pitch to help it recover or ask if there are fans available to help the groundsman?
Re: Weather this week.......
If the pitch is compacted and not draining properly it might help. Though while it is covered it's not getting any light to grow, and this strong (warmish) wind is the best way to dry it.simples169 wrote:Why have the club not borrowed covers to try and protect the pitch to help it recover or ask if there are fans available to help the groundsman?
If the pitch is draining, then the problem is the water table is so high that just pushing the water off the sides won't make much difference.
It would be nice to have a statement from the club as to what the problem is.

It was called off on Thursday, so this doesn’t give any indication as to the current state of the pitch.Roy57 wrote:See London bees match today at the hive has been postponed. Waterlogged pitch. Doesn't bode

We couldn't make that call even if we wanted to. Ref's decision.BuzzardBee wrote:Currently showing not good early in the week......do we sacrifice the daggers match to get Halesowen on??

Re: Weather this week.......
Current forecast is for 7mm rain on Monday. That's almost double what we had on Tuesday. However, past few days have been dry (so condition of pitch better than on Tuesday morning after the storm) and we are forecast to have a dry day on Tuesday so pitch may have 24 hrs to recover after the rain.
I think it's more likely than not to go ahead. Fingers crossed.

The good news is they have revised their forecast of rain down to 4.3mm for today.
