A League Proposal
Re: A League Proposal
I see Solihull want season to start even without fans allowed in. They claim that if they streamed games and sold 1500 tickets at £10. Don't see how they see they can sell 1500 when there average attendance was 1400. So they believe they will sell more streaming tickets than supporters who attend games at there home ground. Cannot see that. According to posts on hear from Barnet supporters the sales of tickets for streaming will not sell that well. So don't see how Solihull believe they will sell more streaming sales than actual supporters attending matches. Just wondered if Barnet feel the same and believe they will sell more than supporters attending the Hive. There are a lot of supporters who don't either go to live games for health reasons or distance but would buy a game streamed. Just curious what others Feel about this.

Whilst you pick up a fans who live further away, can’t easily get to home games, you will offset that by the fact that there will only be one log in per household where couples/families come to games.

Re: A League Proposal
Away fans might also stream. In higher numbers than would actually travel in all probability, particularly the long distance games.
Re: A League Proposal
Equally it will be less home fans streaming as many people with live with people who they go to games with and will only buy once. There will be people like me who may choose to go to a step 3 game instead - I hate watching games on the screen with no fans. If they do go down the streaming route, I will watch some of the games, but probably not all.
From the clubs perspective it's not really about numbers it's about revenue. It's not just streaming price against gate receipts, but the clubs will also be losing all their other matchday revenue e.g. parking, catering, bars etc. I would imagine that's pretty significant for most clubs.

Re: A League Proposal
So the National League have failed to make a decision about starting games on 3 October. They plan to enter into discussions with the Government, who appear to be completely disinterested in the sport, to try to gain financial support to start the season. Given that the Chancellor has just reduced support for businesses I suspect that their response will be "go and ask the Premier League".
Re: A League Proposal
Just a thought. If the season does end up going ahead and games are streamed, would we all be allowed in to Bar 66 or Legends to watch it?
Seems barmy we could all sit inside together to watch it but not a few metres away, in the stands.

Re: A League Proposal
we should just hijack a jubilee line train and watch from the gap between the stands! or do what they did at a Polish speedway match & hire a cherry picker and park it in the carpark behind the south stand!

Would there be anyone to stop you standing in car park?jerroll wrote:we should just hijack a jubilee line train and watch from the gap between the stands! or do what they did at a Polish speedway match & hire a cherry picker and park it in the carpark behind the south stand!
(Would not bother doing myself by the way lol)
Re: A League Proposal
That's true. The three of us ( family group) who all have STs will just do one streaming and watch together. Many others will do likewise.barnetpete wrote:Whilst you pick up a fans who live further away, can’t easily get to home games, you will offset that by the fact that there will only be one log in per household where couples/families come to games.
Re: A League Proposal
Those who bought a ST could potentially use a ticket to watch each stream?
I'd like that to be an option rather than be refunded for not attending the Hive in person

Re: A League Proposal
I'd go along with that idea too. Give people the choice. But if you have tickets as a social/family bubble of up to 6, there would need to he a decision on what happens to the tickets for the rest of the group. Do they still get refunded or will the club assume all 6 people are still watching together?hoofer2 wrote:Those who bought a ST could potentially use a ticket to watch each stream?

Personally, the simpler the scheme is the better!
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!
Re: A League Proposal
Maidenhead confirmed this even before the new government restrictions were announced. All of their season ticket holders get free live stream access to any home games without fans.hoofer2 wrote:Those who bought a ST could potentially use a ticket to watch each stream?

And Borehamwood https://www.borehamwoodfootballclub.co. ... et-update/ good for the club, good for fans.#Beebot wrote:Maidenhead confirmed this even before the new government restrictions were announced. Re: A League Proposal
It all sounds so simple, let season ticket holders have free access to streaming, charge everyone else £10. Sounds fair? What about those households who have multiple season ticket holders, e.g. 2, they effectively have paid about £17 to watch it together. Whereas a family of 5 could watch it on streaming for say £10! You can't please all the people all of the time!

Re: A League Proposal
Very good point.
I think that's why Borehamwood's offer of refunds up to Oct 2nd is a fair deal.
Families with multiple season tickets can get all but one refunded and all watch one stream.
