No, I don't thik we ever will. The Barry Fry era in particular was, with the benefit of hindsight, a complete "one off" (as the man was & is himself).
I think this is why the crowd never took to John Still. We had been completely spoilt by seeing the beautiful game, as it should be played.
But how we would have John Still back now. (Daggers beat Charlton last time out. How times change indeed.)

Agreed. Which makes it particularly shameful how so many fans treated him when he returned to underhill managing Dagenham.markobee wrote:No, I don't thik we ever will. The Barry Fry era in particular was, with the benefit of hindsight, a complete "one off" (as the man was & is himself).

Re: Will we ever get our Barnet back?
Our time will come again, maybe not in the next few years, maybe not even in the next decade but one day we will come again and we just have to make sure we approach life in the football league the right way (unlike he way we have approached it in the last 6 years).
Although going down will be hard to take we have to make the most of it. In terms of the club i think we need a big clear out, i'm talking most of the players, obviously we need to sort out the managerial position and i honestly think it is time for TK to move on. He has taken us to places we never in a million years thought we would be going (e.g. Old Trafford) but for me he just doesn't have the funds or experience to make us into a club that could be football league standard for decades.
As for the rest of the season, we just have to play to win. There is no point going into Saturday with a defensive strategy as quite frankly we need to win a large majority of our games if we are to have nay chance of staying up.
COYB's!!!

Not to mention Mark Arber too. It was embarrassing.weino wrote: Agreed. Which makes it particularly shameful how so many fans treated him when he returned to underhill managing Dagenham.
I could never understand at the time why certain segments of Barnet fans gave John Still such a hard time when he was our manager.
I remember the last game of last season when we beat Rochdale and avoided the drop. John Still was on BBC 'Late Kick off" singing the praises of the club, TK and the supporters, and that the he was eager to find out the Barnet/Rochdale score as soon as the Daggers game ended. Nice guy, good manager. Wish he was still at Barnet.

Mark Arber took he club to court.....
Its a long winded thing but he turned out a tosser.
John Stil is the best manager the club has had since Fry, maybe clem....

Re: Will we ever get our Barnet back?
Many happy memories that sadly ended with the club on the brink of financial ruin. This is why returning to the "good old days" in the football league is a pipe dream for Barnet where long term finances are prioritised over a a "quick fix".markobee wrote:No, I don't thik we ever will.
