Today we’re launching OnlyBarnet.com’s campaign to raise £5,000 for the Back 2 Barnet Campaign.

The objective of the campaign is to ensure that our club, Barnet Football Club returns to the Town of Barnet, in the shortest possible time frame, playing at a fit for purpose stadium capable of supporting a competitive professional league football club.

The Barnet FC Supporter’s Trust is attempting to raise £75,000 so Barnet Football Club can submit a planning application for the stadium WE want to be built in Barnet.

HOW?

OnlyBarnet has set up an Easyfundraising Shop via http://www.back2barnet.co.uk

Easyfundraising.org.uk is a great way to raise money for charities, schools, sports clubs, community groups, and other good causes just by shopping online. You don’t pay anything extra for shopping as you normally would online. There are a huge amount of retailers involved, including Argos, M&S, John Lewis, Tesco and thousands of other companies you would be doing your Christmas Shopping through!

1. Start at http://www.back2barnet.co.uk

Let's say you want to buy a book from Amazon. Instead of going to amazon.co.uk, you go to http://www.back2barnet.co.uk first

2. Make a purchase

You click from the website through to Amazon to make your purchase. The price of the book is exactly the same as if you'd visited Amazon directly.

3. Get a donation

After you have bought your book, Amazon will make a donation to our cause as a thank you for shopping with them. easyfundraising collect these donations for us, and it costs nothing!

WILL IT WORK?

The ideas came about after coming across a few opposition forums who raise money for their clubs through similar commission / cashback schemes. We were quite taken aback by the money raised i.e – from clubs no bigger than our own, Newport County have raised over £13,000 and Aldershot over £7,000, so yes it can work, and make a massive contribution to the Back2Barnet Campaign with no additional cost to yourselves.

APART FROM DOING MY NORMAL SHOPPING THROUGH http://WWW.BACK2BARNET.CO.UK WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?

Some of the highest paying product categories are business providers – i.e. Dell, or Viking Direct, so please get your company involved – remember there is no cost to themselves.

Larger sums can be made from insurance & utility providers, so if you are changing your gas, electricity, mobile phone, insurance, broadband, TV check http://WWW.BACK2BARNET.CO.UK to see if your prospective new supplier is included – they probably are.

Sounds the same as Quidco or other cashback type sites but with it all going to B2B instead. I'm guessing it can't be used together with them due to clicking through from the various sites? Will pass the link on regardless.

In fact following on from the above, you might find if you're purchasing a lot then Quidco might have better rates, so you could use that and donate the cashback to B2B. Just a thought.

The campaign is to raise £75k so I'm assuming whatever is raised will go towards the campaign regardless of how much it is.

Steve is on the money. This is purely an OnlyBarnet forum intiative to raise money. The target is purely to help focus all your minds and encourage you. We could have set the target at £200 but I think we can do better.

For example our friends at Wealdstone have raised over £1,500.

Aldershot have raised £6,000 - £5,000 of that in the last 3 years (http://www.shotsweb.co.uk/mb/viewtopic. ... 434a6346fe).

So I don't think we're being unrealistic. There's very little you can't buy online that doesn't help.

January is a key time for sorting out your own finances, and some of the best donations come from changing banks, gas & electricity suppliers or TV/phone/Broadband which people do now. (Although if there is a supplier not featured that is cheaper or more appropriate for your circumstances, please think of yourself first and foremost!!).
