Ex-Bee (2003-05) goalkeeper Shane Gore has just signed for Wingate & Finchley. Very disappointing news for us Chesham fans. He has made an incredible 262 appearances for Chesham; was our club captain; and has been one of our top players for season after season. Can't imagine why he would want to move to Wingate (who have also just signed another ex-Chesham and St Albans City veteran, Steve Wales).

Just looking at that:
New football facility in Barnet

Wingate & Finchley are excited to be a partner club in new state of the art football facility about to open in September in Barnet Lane, EN5.
The facility will house 4G full size floodlit astro pitch, grass pitch and pavilion changing rooms.
This will allow our First, Development and Youth Teams to train at the same facility.
Any other clubs or individuals wishing to hire the astro should email hwstrust@gmail.com or call 07977007746, as there are still some slots available
That's nice for them

I believe that's the land that BFC were never included in discussions over. I mean it's not like it was on Underhills doorstep or anything.

It is a complete eyesore at the moment and sickening that the disgusting council are so hypocritical when it comes to offering support to football clubs/rugby clubs in the borough. Just shows that there was never any chance of us being offered anything suitable within Barnet.

I was going to say that the club got lip service but don't think it even got as far as that.

Basingstoke have signed a load of young players in the summer. They seem excited about the season ahead.

Just back from a trip to Edinburgh. Local papers reporting that Craig Beattie has joined League newcomers, Edinburgh City. Didn't realise he was only 32.

He moved on the pitch as if he were 82.
