Re: Official Retained List
Cojocarel is one of the better youth players, think Gambin Mk II.
Will be interesting to see which others are staying.

Re: Official Retained List
Charlie MacDonald has been released as well.
That must mean we're looking to get a first-team starter striker in.

Can't speak about his wages, but a fully fit C MacD would be a starter in League 2 in my opinion.rudebwoyben wrote:Charlie MacDonald has been released as well.

Thanks for everything - didn't top the scoring charts as predicted - however this may surprise a few people

Topped our assists and top 4 in the league.
Re: Official Retained List
It's a similar one to Lee Cook. They would both be nailed on to start if at their best, but injury problems and presumably quite high wages means it isn't worth the risk. Macdonald will always now be remembered as the captain when we won the Conference for the third time and it is a shame to see him go but if we can get in a good replacement then I would say that it is a sensible decision.

Is it wrong of me to think more of Weston as being our Conference winning captain?Itsmeerc wrote:...Macdonald will always now be remembered as the captain when we won the Conference for the third time...
Re: Official Retained List
On the pitch CW was really, officially CMac was club captain
Re: Official Retained List
Didn't we lose our academy funding when we fell out of the league? So now do we get it back again ?
... All we have to do is keep winning the next game ...

Re: Official Retained List
Good to hear, although not surprising at all.
He got better as his season with us progressed. With a proper pre-season with us, I'm hopeful he can do well in his first Football League season.

Unconventional scouting from MA
I first set eyes on him in a game at Kidderminster that I watched when they played Welling United. He got substituted and he threw his shirt at the manager in the dugout and I was sat just a few yards behind watching, and it was at that moment that I thought: ‘I would like to sign him.’
Re: Official Retained List
Let's not forget that we have an all conquering youth team. Stevens remains a hot prospect if managed accordingly
and could well benefit from playing with a striker such as Akinde. Could provide pace up front off the bench now
that we can choose from 7 players.

Great news!

Re: Official Retained List
That's good news indeed. Am I right in thinking we are now only waiting to hear about Jon Nurse?
