Most boring game of the decade
Port vale 0 - 0 Barnet season 2008-2009
Think that says it all.

Re: Most boring game of the decade
I luckily missed that one although I did listen on Barnet World so I know what you mean.
Most boring home match - the FA Cup replay v Burton Albion December 2007. I remember reaching the stage of not caring which team scored, just so long as someone did so that we didn't have to have a further 30 minutes of extra time.

the FA Cup replay v Burton Albion December 2007...........wasn't that the game where the floodlights failed as well???
Re: Most boring game of the decade
No the floodlights were fine - thankfully. It was really freezing though!
The only home match that I can recall floodlight failure was a Saturday afternoon match v Shrewsbury which finally kicked off at 4.35pm.

Re: Most boring game of the decade
From what I read on this board every week it's most of the games played this season.
Re: Most boring game of the decade
There was an absymal 0-0 at home to Darlo where there was something up with the floodlights.amberforever wrote:the FA Cup replay v Burton Albion December 2007...........wasn't that the game where the floodlights failed as well???
I seem to remember something wrong with them winning 2-1 against Bury as well.
Thank god we've got a new set.
Re: Most boring game of the decade
None of these come close to the Barnet 0 - 0 Scarborough, Feb 2002. The 1,140 attendees saw the dullest match I can rember. Woking at home on New Years Day in front of the sky cameras deserves 2nd place.

Port Vale away this season also deserves an honourable mention.
Re: Most boring game of the decade
The Accrington Stanley home FA Cup 2nd round replay, 8th December 2009 was awful, brought a girl to that game (she's a Notts Forest fan) and she still talks about how unutterably crap it was.
But there have been so so many boring games until recently, wasn't going to renew my season ticket until the last couple of months of the season happened!!

Re: Most boring game of the decade
Burton at home at the beginning of last season should have served as a pointer as to how crap the season was going to be. At home to a very limited side who offered absolutely nothing in attack, we seemed happy to clog it up in midfield for the full 90 minutes.

Barnet 0-0 Southport.
Saturday 8th September 2001.
A proper 'welcome to the Conference' experience that was. So bad I can remember it now!!

Barnet 0 -0 Kidderminster, Kiddies first season in the league and Barry Horne was playing...literally can't remember at attempt on goal during that match.
Re: Most boring game of the decade
Most of the insomniac games already mentioned. My vote goes to Yeovil away on 28th December 2002. Crap season under Peter Shreeves and we sat back all game and frustrated Yeovil with Danny Naisbitt getting sent-off late on but very boring stuff to finish 0-0.
I remember a foggy, cold evening match in November 2003 against Gravesend & Northfleet. For 94 minutes it had been simply dreadful, hardly a chance all game, a lot of fans left early but up popped Chris Plummer with a header (I think) to send the east terrace mad.On a par with the Shrewsbury play-off game that season when Clisty scored in the last minute for celebrations.
