a) Who do you think should be the captain?

b) Who do you think will be the captain?

I would like to see Andy Yiadom as captain personally.

I think he'll give it to Curtis Weston, Andy Yiadom or Akinde as a big boost for this season; amazing that an armband can make a player feel 10x better.

Well, who is a shoe-in to play most games?

Stack, Johnson, Togwell, Weston & Akinde.

Anyone else?

I can only think therefore that it should go to Togwell. I want Weston to concentrate on football, and think Johnson is too young to be worried about these things, and don't think it should go to gk / striker as you want your captain to be able to communicate to everyone on the pitch.

Yiadom is a good shout. Would deserve it based on his performances for us over the last couple of years.

Think Weston will get it based on him being skipper last season when Charlie Mac was injured.

I think Yiadom will get it if he is still with us.

Dembele is a 'leader' according to a Stevenage irregular attendee and I think he was skipper there at some point, but rewarding loyalty should be the reason (apart from GKs who are never great captains).

Quite a few choices - I could see Andy getting it especially as turned down some bid from Barnsley for him - would show his value to us. Although Andy looks like a model professional and I don't think he will be affected by the bids.

Sidetracking, but that article mentions Nelson so seems like he's definitely signed.
Yids for me.

He wore a shirt with his name on the back on tuesday so either he has signed or forked out £70 in the club shop to buy a shirt as there is no way BFC would have wasted printing his name on a shirt just to play in a friendly!!

I think Weston played even better last season once he had been made captain, so on that basis I'd like to see him given it, but we are in a position where we have a few strong candidates.

I was told weeks ago that he had signed for the club.

Ideally we should look towards a player will captain the side long term, rather than just for one season. My money is on Curtis... I'd rather see Andy Yiadom focus on his own game, especially as he's changing his role within the team.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

surely it will be Weston as he was captain the majority of the time that Charlie M was injured last season
