Re: New Signing
Interesting. He was devastating for Peterborough Utd in League 1 not too long ago.

Re: New Signing
ridiculous signing!
how the hell did we pull this one off?
On paper this is the strongest set of attacking options I've ever seen.

His Uncle Bitty sings with Barnet "fan" and Madness saxophonist Lee Thompson. That must explain it!

Re: New Signing
Good signing on paper, although his recent scoring record is poor.
Wait and see him play.

Re: New Signing
If he can get fit should be useful, between him Lisbee and Batt we might be bale to cover any injuries to JA & Gash. Or has he been signed short term to cover for the eventuality of John moving before the transfer window closes.I hope not, that is my fear though

Re: New Signing
Wonder what he is like. He has been playing in higher levels the past 5 years and has not been prolific, so unclear whether he still has it in him.
Re: New Signing
Scored 29 goals in his last season in League 2 although that was 7 years ago...
Re: New Signing
If he plays well and scores a few, he'll probably start ahead of Gash. Unless Gash starts to find the net of course.Mickbee wrote:If he can get fit should be useful, between him Lisbee and Batt we might be bale to cover any injuries to JA & Gash. Re: New Signing
Decent signing on paper. Surely Lisbie is seriously injured (again) or Akinde is off though!
Feel bad for Gash as he does do a job and holds up the ball so well.

Re: New Signing
Looks like he trialled at Dagenham in pre-season, scored in their 1 -0 win over palace on 3rd August.
Re: New Signing
Just hope he has signed as an Akinde partner rather than an Akinde replacement. Those two upfront would trouble most League 2 defences I wouldve thought.

If he was an Akinde replacement, he'd have been signed on a longer contract I reckon.meden_820 wrote:Just hope he has signed as an Akinde partner rather than an Akinde replacement. Those two upfront would trouble most League 2 defences I wouldve thought.
Surely just a striker to add to the numbers whilst Lisbie gets fit and possibly past that?

Re: New Signing
On his day he can be lethal and he was always very quick. Let's hope he is fit and stays fit and he could be really exciting.
Re: New Signing
I like the idea of Akinde and McLean upfront. Think that could work well for us.
