How realistic is it?
Can you go a whole season without a recognised right back?
Can you fine players for eating doughnuts?

If you really want to extract the most out of any FM17 starting point (and don't mind cheating the odds in your favour). Start a new career with ssaid club, hire as many scouts and staff as possible. Then scout all available players, Staff generate two reports a day and you can use non souting staff for this purpose also. Once you have requested the scout reports, go on holiday, sit back and wait for the reports to be finished. You can then return from holiday and filter the best talent that are willing to sign for you.
You might need to do this a few times, focusing on defenders, then midefielders etc (due to the high number of players to scout).
Pen and paper the best reults and once you have scouted everyone, you are ready to start from scratch already knowing who the best 5 star youths are and where to find them etc.
If playing as Barnet, focus on getting to the Premier league befor you start bothering TK for better facilties etc. Thoe money's better spent getting to the Premiership where the money increases considerably.
If you are not cheating (reloading save games if you lose etc.) A general rule of thumb is that a promotion every other season is par for the course. However it is possible to get on a roll and leapfrog consequetive leagues.
Enjoy! Oh, and I have a Cornwall database for download on the steam workshop if you fancy a change!
