very sad and back luck for all parties - when he came past on the stretcher on Saturday the knee looked about 3 times normal size.

Gutted for him and the club. He's just made a huge life decision to switch to full-time football and now this happens.

On a less human note, I hope we have good insurance.

Poor chap. Hopefully he will come back strong next season.

I always wonder whether this will happen to one of the players that are transferred for extortionate fees. For example it could so easily have happened to Neymar or Mbappe.

Hope his recovery is quick and successful really pissed off I was looking forward to seeing him play and score. Are these long term injuries just down to bad luck? Can't remember a start like it. Chin up Dave.

As far as I can tell, they've all been picked up during matches, not in training.

Did anybody see what happened to Dave Tarpey? From what we noticed, there seemed to be a coming together between him and a Cambridge player over in front of the East Stand in the first minute. No whistle for a foul, play continued, we noticed that Tarpey was struggling but trying to run it off. He continued to keep trying for 2-3 more minutes, we watched him, it was clear that he couldn't carry on. We wondered whether the Cambridge player had fouled him or whether it was purely accidental?

Best wishes to Tarpey for as quick a recovery as possible. Terrible when he's just packed in his job too.

However Maidenhead have done extremely well since they sold him. Beat Tranmere last night and are only four points off top spot. They must have a bit of money to spend in January if they're near the play-offs and really want to push for another promotion. Would their ground be up to football league standards?
