This is horrible viewing, even worse seeing it flattened with such potential for a new ground to be built there!!!!

The site is to small and stands cannot be built over a certain height.

Terrible to see the state of the old ground.
But am I the only one thinking that the Barnet Times Family Enclosure (fourth picture down) actually looks better now than when it was in use?
It's certainly safer now that the roof has gone completely. Didn't part of it blow away during a match about 10 years ago? Probably the only time in my life that I wished there was more health and safety in this country.

I drove by yesterday and I'm sure my lip wobbled when my 10 year old said he preferred Underhill to The Hive without any prompting.
He said he preferred the atmosphere of the walk to the ground. I had to look at this to cheer myself up:

Re: Not for the faint hearted........
I visited Underhill yesterday and had the surreal experience of looking at the ruins from the south playing field while Arsene Wenger cycled passed me several times as he went round and round the field on the footpath. With his black bike and clothes and pale grim expression he looked like the grim reaper! Didn't have chance to ask if he could lend us a few players.
Re: Not for the faint hearted........
Today marks my 25th anniversary of watching my first ever Barnet match - a 2-1 win over Chesterfield on Saturday 6th February 1993. It still feels like yesterday and I was immediately hooked with Barry Fry's attacking football. What a team. I really wish I'd been going when we won the Conference first time and the first ever season in the league.

Had to come down to London last week and visited what was left at Underhill. Gutted, somebody should be hanging there head in total shame. He's probably counting his money though.
