Sounds like Hgh scoring thriller in the making. Bees to win by the odd goal in 9 ?

Our attacking lineup is restored but there is limited supply from midfield with Jack missing.

I'll be one of the few going tonight... any decent boozers between station and ground for a quick couple?

Not sure we should play Tarpey even for a minute on that pitch! Duku is bound to score.

There seems to be plenty of options nearby..burge019 wrote:I'll be one of the few going tonight... any decent boozers between station and ground for a quick couple?

No Ben Tomlinson for Halfax, he's injured and out for the rest of the season.
They do have, however, one Manny Duku. This was the guy we should have signed. Manny and Shaq up front would have given opposing defences something to think about.

Did we ever find out what happened at Bristol Rovers apropos Manny Duku? I'm assuming he was just fed up with being taken off after 30-ish minutes, but to kick the dugout a few times, have words with the then manager, then walk around the home end applauding the fans was a little bizarre. Anything else to it does anyone know (and can post)?

From memory the decent pubs and town centre are 5-10 mins walk. Mauro was superb the last time we visited, that scrappy point despite conceding in the last minute was valuable.

At the time, I believe Duku had been stretchered off vs Hartlepool, declared his fitness for next game, and Still did not agree and hoiked him off. The petulance he displayed was unprofessional, however he was acutely aware of Harrison's limitations by comparison.Rupes wrote:Did we ever find out what happened at Bristol Rovers apropos Manny Duku? Now Currie has got the Bees trying to play football, he is the big number 9 we need.

I'm not sure I share the optimism about our 'new attractive football' - is it really that good?! Sutton & Chesterfield at home were complete snore fests. Passing doesn't necessarily mean better if you can't stick it in the net. Under Davids in the Conf we tried to play football but we moved it side to side all game without actually going anywhere.
It was fun to watch vs the two Champ sides who typically sit off.

Cheers pal, only have about an hour before I'll set off to the ground but I'm sure I can sample a few in that time (Y)alexbach wrote:the shears inn served a lovely pint back in the day

No Bouchard, hope he hasn't crippled himself again. But definitely our strongest bench of the season.
Re: Halifax (a) The Match Thread Banking on Low Numbers
Rumoured we wouldn't let Tarpey, play on plastic while on loan at Maidenhead, not sure letting him loose on Halifax's cabbage patch is any more sensible.
Re: Halifax (a) The Match Thread Banking on Low Numbers
Tarpey alert!!!!
All fingers crossed.
