Re: Aldershot (hive) The Match Thread Soldiering on with 10
Got a bit bullied in first half, they were a strong direct side but testament to the team they stood strong. They were also quick to get 6 behind the ball and our front 5 were to static to get the balls to them to feed balls into feet.
Half time chats must be good, DC and Junior seem to have a way.
With exactly the type of no.9 DC had said he wanted to help the other fast, nippy, flair players play we outplayed them
Second half. Two wonderful strikes.
Few weeks ago someone called for the Dog. Have some patience, DC is doing wonders.
Just need to get our mates turning up again now, the side deserves more support.
And Pavey.... our new Liam Hatch. Loved the 100% commitment to everything. Going to pi$$ off a lot of defences and opposition fans if he plays like that every week.

Funny enough Pete I was just thinking Alfie's performance was Hatchlike. just need to find our Graz now....barnetpete wrote:Got a bit bullied in first half, they were a strong direct side but testament to the team they stood strong. I also likened him to Hatch last night.
Very solid performance overall & we are playing to our strengths going forward now. We aren’t going to regularly win 3/4-0 but the way we are improving we can grind out & bully teams with the ball as well as in the air potentially now as well.
4 of the next 5 games are away from home now. Although that would have been seen as a positive before the last couple of games!

Playing away is not a bad thing whilst the surfaces are still good. Teams are less likely to play defensively in front of their own fans and that opens the game up for our style of game. Teams will come to the Hive and put men behind the ball.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Here's the Shots' view on last night. The whinging about the actual match should be ignored because that's what fans tend to do when their team loses, but the off-field antics will do little to attract away, neutral and first time fans to the Hive. Surely the atmosphere should be more welcoming? 22 quid?

You can't take alcohol into a football ground. It's not really anything to complain about.

What a whingy, whiny, moany and inaccurate rant.
Did he seriously think they should have the home terrace?

I love the fact that their fan whinges about our " OTT security" when he was actually trying to take a bottle of beer and a bottle opener into the ground!
And claims that they should have been put on the home terrace!

I just love the idea that he could claim that it was acceptable to do so. After all, you'd not be allowed to take an empty glass bottle into a ground, let alone a full bottle of beer which even if you didn't plan on throwing it, you couldn't drink within sight of the pitch. Plus the bottle opener.#Beebot wrote:You can't take alcohol into a football ground. It's not really anything to complain about.

And were those pics of underhill at the top of the blog? Why?
... All we have to do is keep winning the next game ...

The whinging of the ticket prices....
Aldershot's match day tickets, Seating £20, Standing £18.
So, £2 extra to sit in a decent Stand with a superb view of the pitch.
It's moaning for moaning' sake. Get a life Aldershot fans.

Simple answer to these whinging away fans - make north stand a family stand, split south terrace in half then give the away fans that & the open seats in the corner where bumbles family section is currently!

Then they'd moan about getting wet!

He also can’t spell Edgware correctly or seize correctly and seems to have a drinking issue.
