Last two times we beat Boreham Wood we went really direct and didn’t play in midfield. I’d expect a 352 with Smith and Kabamba up top

Yeah, I think l agree with this ....but we need to be prepared to change it up, if it's not working - we should have enough options on the bench....Mem Beespod wrote: ↑02 May 2023, 10:42 Last two times we beat Boreham Wood we went really direct and didn’t play in midfield. Would be great to hear from our manager!
Re: Boredom Hoof (Hive) The Play Hoof Eliminator Match Thread
Horrible news - for a minute I thought at least it's on TV so he might have a bit more sense about him...then realised he produced 3 reds on TV on Boxing day.
Brennan publicly & privately laid into him too - not good.

Also, Legends looking nice & full but the less said about the other stands (all on TV) the better.

I suspect there will be a significant number of walk ups/last minute buying. Still doubt it will sell out but remember we're a club where the support base is not used to having to buy in advance. In 10 years at the Hive we've had what, 5 sell outs? (Gateshead, Chesterfield, Brentford, Wrexham, Luton?)

This is without doubt terrible news. I really hope he doesn’t screw things up again but based on what I’ve seen v Wood and Woking I think we’re in trouble.

He was outstandingly poor at Woking and not much better vs Wood. This is awful news. I hope the club have objected to this to the national league. He can't be one of the best refs in the league this season so giving him a playoff game feels completely unearned.
Shocker. I will be on his back from minute one.

I really wish I'd not visited this match thread, I feel quite low now. We will just have to hope that somehow we can somehow survive despite him.
I can accept the concept of us losing a match if it's because the opposition are the better side. But not because the referee decides the result.

Absolutely astonishing decision to even contemplate appointing Middleton. Given that Brennan had publically criticised him and doubtless gave him a very low rating, I cannot seriously believe he could be considered to referee a game given his previous issues.
I believe clubs can object to a referee appointment and I hope we have done so here. Recent previous encounter mut surely rule him out of contention. Many rules about appointment of refs designed to rule out even appearance of bias (eg cant ref own town teams etc). Would be amazed to think NL consider him to be a good choice here.

I remember sitting in the main stand where the end blocks were allocated to Portsmouth fans and I think on another occasion Bristol rovers fans ..

Middleton has been in charge of three of our games this season, Chelmsford (home) 2 yellows, Wood (away) 3 reds 3 yellows and Woking (away) 8 yellows.
Overall he has ref’d 20 games this season, 7 reds, 67 yellows. Is he sponsored by Clintons?

Did some quick research, he’s allowed red carded players to be substituted, and also sent off players who are on a stretcher. Ridiculous. As Dean clearly said there’s a reason why he hasn’t moved up levels.

If someone has access to DB, please ask him to object to Middleton refereeing the game tonight.

Im driving tonight which I dont usually do. Is there any good road parking recommendations, dont mind a ten or so minute walk? The club car park is giving me anxiety.
