Boreham Wood (Hive) The Reindeer Hoof Match Thread

Post: # 365205Post Bee_Forever »

Ho....Ho....Ho.....Saturday sees the bees taking on the blacksmiths from Borehamwood in our final match before Christmas in the Bananarama League.

A record of 1 point from our last 5 games has seen the Bees falter in their promotion campaign and the hoof merchants will be hoping to capitalise on their last two wins against what looks a more vulnerable Barnet side.

Vulcans were excited to see the first signs of pre-warp flight as a large spherical object left the earth's atmosphere at high velocity until they realised it was a clearance from Darren Fyfield. With the seafood munchers taking the hoof merchants normal boxing day slot this will be an earlier than usual game against Luke Garrard's basketball team and I just hope we are up for the fight.

In terms of team lineup I have been advocating 4-3-3 but against the unreconstructed I think we need to go toe to toe (or hoof to hoof) with them, while capitalising on the attacking abilities of Kanu and Kabamba. It would be nice to think that Brunt and Pritchard could pull the strings in midfield and supply Nicke through the middle but I expect the game to take place on the touchlines and in the air sadly.

I would go:-

---------------------------------------Stumbler---------------------------------

--------------------Collinge---------Ayres Rock---------Okimo---------------

----Cropper--------------Hartigan-----------Brunt-----------------Kanu-----

--------------------------Pritchard--------------Gorman------------------------

---------------------------------------Kabamba-----------------------------------

Subs: Gilmore, Coker, Armstrong, Stead, Hooper

Hoping we can get ourselves together and win this one.

After their performances against Ebbsfleet I'd start with Coker and replace Brunt with Stead. Kanu is so predictable perhaps he should start on the bench. At the very least it would confuse Wood.

It's about time we confused an opposition, they all seen to anticipate how we're going to play...

Fully expect Brunt to be benched not because of performance, but because he didn’t throw himself for the cross!

I heard rumour it's toss up between playing Brunt of the tea lady, but heard she has a slight muscle pull, but Dean thinks it could be worth the risk, I say go for it Dean

Trying to persuade my daughter to come to the game but she asks how much do Barnet want us to pay to watch them? No respect, young people. But my son and his media savvy girlfriend are coming....

Got a bad feeling we’re not going to come away from this one looking very good. Hope to be proved wrong.

90 away? Christ that's poor. I guess most will get it on the day but still... Considering the distance, they should easily bring 500.
