He had three good chances, all on his weaker foot; one he scored from, one he snatched at and put over and one where he was denied by an excellent save. Shame he couldn’t have scored one of those other two, but from listening to/reading some of our fans’ comments you’d think he’d missed half a dozen sitters.

Regardless, however, we are in desperate need of another striker, just as we’ve been in need of another striker throughout the season.
I'm sure he missed a couple of free headers as well. Nevertheless, I think he's got the outlines of a really good player, he just needs to shoot with more conviction and have more confidence in front of goal.

Would still get another striker in though, a big target man could be very useful.

3 goals in 46 games is hardly prolific for a striker. Hopefully DB has seen something in him that others haven't

Oxford Utd obviously see something in him, bulk of those apps were as a sub in league 1! reading their forum he was prolific at youth level so lets hope he hits the ground running when he gets a chance.

I think Oxford see a lot in him - he was only in the middle of a 2 year deal when they gave him a new ‘long term contract’ in the summer. The vast majority of those 46 appearances have been from the bench, and of course another way of looking at it is that Oxford rate him highly enough to give him 46 games at League One Level despite his youth.

He’s been coming off the bench in their recent games and has played 24 times this season, so this isn’t some unwanted reserve Oxford have written off.

Proof of the pudding will be in the eating of course, but good news that we’ve got another option up front. One who should be fit, as he’s been playing, and who isn’t cup-tied for the FA Trophy!

His stats for Oxford Utd overall are 65 apps, 2 goals (only 13 starts). In L1: 50 apps, 2 goals (only 9 starts).

Hoping his time with the Bees will be successful.

Ah, finally.

Personally always give new signings the benefit of the doubt, so good luck to the young lad.

Fingers crossed he isn’t another Moyo…

Oxford fans shorten his name to GOD.
Let’s hope he is as good as our God was.

I think the fact that he's only made 9 starts is significant.

50 appearances and only 2 goals sounds pretty poor, but 2 goals in 9 starts sounds better.

He's also not been getting much of a run-out in these appearances as sub either. This season these are his mins in each game.

18, 1, 3, 19, 1, 0, 0, 0, 11, 17, 20, 9, 17, 0, 4, 6, 0, 12, 8, 0, 1, 10, 0 3, 0, 0, 0, 0, 9, 21, 11.

I don't think we can judge him at all based on his performances for Oxford Utd.

Even at Oxford City 2 of his 4 appearances were from the bench.

Cheers for the post, very interesting in Oxford supporters view on him, liked the part were he said he is strong on the ball, as in one game with 8 mins injury time GOD virtually kept the ball, were he said he over complicated things and missed chances I feel this was the pressure a young lad who was being used as mainly a impact sub, trying to hard, even at our level we have seen players do this, maybe Stead, who I like, cannot fault his work rate, commitment and ball control, his finishing needs to improve, but like our new signing could be down to over trying to impress, but Dean has brought in the striker we needed so well done to him and TK, and welcome to Barnet "GOD"

It is what the old confguide forum evolved into. So mostly politics and all sorts of assorted nonsense but a fair amount of football too.

Confforum has been going for about 20 years now in a multitude of variations - it's very old school, almost legendary!
