Don’t be surprised to see at least 2 of Thompson, Okimo or Prichard involved on Tuesday.

DB clearly just didn’t risk them (and rightly so). Win Tuesday and all is rosy again.

It does surprise me how some gloss over the team line up when everything we do starts from the back. The patterns of play how we interchange and move up the pitch. Yesterday the players selected couldn't do that so it looked like a different team. Clearly a few players that are not good enough to step in but I'm fairly realistic on performance v lineup so not surprised.

True - he said Okimo is having a scan on his hamstring Monday so that could be anything from a week up to out for the season (Kabamba as an example) - I blame the other thread discussing how he never misses a game!

Pritch & Thompson both 50/50 for Tuesday he said so just niggles/precautions.

Danny Collinge was with the squad along with Pritch & Okimo sitting on the bench. Whereas Oluwo was standing with us near the 1/2 line. Maybe reading into it but DC should be training soon hopefully (but did take a while to get match fit earlier in the season).

It’s all good us talking about scraping over the line but we need to be doing more than that & going into the play offs with momentum or else another anti-climax is on the horizon!

Let’s just hope we never have to play in the FA Trophy again! As usual, quite a lot of over the top reactionary comments on here, and in the ground. Being pushed down the stairs for not agreeing with a fellow supporter when he told me our team line up was wrong is a new one for me. Especially as neither I nor him had an idea of how we could’ve done anything differently with the fit players we have. Weird one! Fans digging out players like senior, stevens etc at the game is no use to anyone, they are simply not good enough. Oh, and those blaming Keeley, football is not your sport.

Back to football- you can’t go 1-0 down against Bromley inside 30 seconds, poor from Brunt. Just to keep things balanced (Roy57)- Zak brunt has 21 goals and assists this season, top 10 in the league. He has bad games, but the majority are superb, especially recently. Second goal we lost the ball in our own half and payed the price for that. Aside from the goals, it was an even game with few chances but Bromley took there’s and deserved the win on the balance of play.

We missed Thompson Okimo and Pritchard massively in that game. Cheek bullied our right backs at centre back, something AT wouldn’t have let happen. We lacked any sort of press, something Pritch excels at and drives on those around him. Bit scared of what McCallum will do to us Tuesday if we don’t have players back given that I’m not sure we won a header in our attacking third all game even with two up top at one point.

The key point is- We’ve missed key players for large parts of the season, struggled to get consistent team selections going and yet we’re still second in the league with 9 games to go. We need 3/4 wins to achieve our pre-season target of top 3, 4/5 wins to achieve our points target. With players starting to come back into the team over the next 2/3 games, building up fitness going into the play offs, if they can stay fit and capture form, there is no reason why we don’t go up.

Think we need to dip into the market if Okimo is out for a prolonged period and Kanu’s return is key so we have a viable alternative to Coker.

Given Collinge is back soon and Thompson doesn’t seem badly injured don’t see an urgent need at RCB. Elsewhere most of our injured players have returned or will be soon so think we are well placed

Conceding in first minute we were always going to be up against. I thought the back 3 did ok and contained Bromley pretty well.

Coker, Hartigan and Hall-Johnson were the players who did not step up / read game/surface well enough - get the ball moving forwards. It made it easy for Bromley with a wall of 10 in the penalty area. Attacking fast through the middle on the counter was what was needed, but first pass is too often sideways.

Set piece delivery was poor and Stead / O'Donkor were never going to win headers against defenders of that height but Bromley defence were kept busy.

The set piece tactic of crossing the ball onto the goal line needs to be rethought as their keeper caught every single one.

Senior did not have a great first half but was not helped at all by Hall-Johnson. O'Donkor should have been replaced by Kabamba - he was struggling after taking a couple of knocksin first half and did not look comfortable.

As soon as Gorman came on should have been in middle and not wide with Brunt put on the wing.

How Armstrong did not get brought on is a mystery. Needed his legs and urgency.

Makes you appreciate what Pritchard brings to the team when he doesn't start and of the rock of Okimo.

If that was a full strength Bromley side playing on a pitch that gives them an advantage, we should be optimistic for playoffs providing we have players returning. Kanu most important assuming Thompson has just taken a knock.

Sometimes fans need to remember that players are not robots and no club wins every match. We reached the quarter finals of the FAT, we reached the 2nd round of the FA Cup, we are currently 2nd in NL , only club ahead of us are the runaway Champions Elect. Yet still there are complaints because we didn't play 3 injured players and on a plastic pitch.

What has happened to Marvin? Isn't this meant to be year 2 of a 3 year plan of him becoming a key player for us? Feels like his playing time has just got worse and worse as time has gone on.

We reached both of those by beating teams in divisions below us - hardly impressive is it. In fact over the last 2 seasons the only Cup win against anyone in our division was 2-0 away at Solihull in the trophy last season. Of course you have to beat what’s put in front of you but we are starting to see a habit in which we fail in the big games.

I’m not a negative fan & kind of glad I can go to Maidenhead away now & see every game we have left in person, barring Halifax. But let’s not overhype our cup runs.

From X:

“Since October we have lost every single game against play off/promotion sides - Gateshead, Oldham & Chesterfield x2 each, Altrincham, Aldershot and now Bromley.”

Why can we not beat the teams around us? Is it psychological or is DB consistently getting the tactics wrong for the ‘big occasion’?

Untrue, we beat Torquay and Maidstone in last season’s FA Trophy run!

We have 6 players capable of playing RCB and 1 player capable of playing LCB, and he’s 35 years old. That is really stupid however you look at it, so yes cover for Okimo is urgently needed and has been for weeks.
