Johnson and Tarpey's injuries happened on opposite sides of the pitch, nowhere near each other ( although in the same half of the pitch).

If the ground is essentially dry and you water the top, that then creates a potential unstable surface and the top will more easily detach from the drier subsurface. That could explain why the injuries are more muscular and twist related than breaks if the ground was hard...don't know for sure but maybe the watering contributes in this way.

If that is also true about the Cambridge player being out for the season with a knee injury then that really is pretty eerie...
